210 Sante won't run past idle

I just bought a 06 Sante, took it out yesterday for the first time. Starts and idles great. After about 10-15 second under power the boat loses all RPM and will only idle. It will stay this way until I turn the boat off then I have full power but will do the same thing. There were two times that I got the boat to run for 10-15 min without doing it but I have no idea why. Any ideas or advice would sure be helpful?

Couple of things that would help people give you some advice..

How old is the gas in it ?

Have replaced the furl filter ?

What motor do you have and how many hours are on it ?

Did you check the cap and rotor or does it have coil packs ?

It has fresh fuel in it, just filled it on the way to the lake. I have not replaced the fuel filter. It has the Excalibur 330 motor with 440 hours. I don't feel it's a fuel issue. There is no sputter or acting like its starving for fuel. I think it's being put into limp mode. If I shut off the engine then start it back up immediately it runs fine but it may do it again 30-60 seconds later. It's very intermittent. The check engine light is working when the motor is initially started but it turns off and it never turns back on even when it goes into limp mode. Oil and temp gauges are working, 50-60 approximately for the oil and the temp is at 160-165.

is the perfect pass engaged? Perfect pass is an integral part of the throttle. not sure if you have drive by wire or a cable, but can be an issue.

If I'm not mistaken, there is an oil switch and an oil sending unit that can send it into limp mode. I had to replace the oil switch on my 2005 210 to get it out of limp mode a few years back.

            1. Check distributor cap and rotor for excessive corrosion and replace if needed.
            2. Then check and replace spark plugs.

I checked to make sure Perfect Pass is off but I also engaged the Cruise and it would do the same thing whether the cruise was off or on.

is the fuel tank vent on the port side blocked, obstructed or internally clogged?
