Thanks for the input guys. Here is another at Buxton's. We currently have an orange hull and still really like the looks of it. How difficult and costly is it to add NSS to 2013?

Easy add and Buxton would do it for probably $2500. You would be in that boat for almost $10k more than the white and blue one with more hours and really only have two extra tower speakers on the orange one. Seems like the blue and white one is a much better deal. If you pay that much, get the 2014 black and orange one they have for $89k, would be pretty much the same price as that 2013 after adding NSS.

I like a lot of the little changes made to the 2014+ model 230, but they also took away a few things I really liked. Example, the full size hard cooler is now gone (they replaced with a soft one), but gives you more storage. The back little compartments by the platform are gone which was a nice area to throw shoes etc.
Some of the changes we like a lot are the new bluetooth connectable head unit (no need for usb or aux cords), electronic throttle (little smoother, but absolutley nothing wrong with the old throttle), the boat is a little bit deeper in the cabin area, and the NSS is more integrated to the hull and looks better aestetically. Plus we got the Pro ballast on our new 2015, and really enjoy having the extra weight plumbed in (although the extra weight is not really needed on top of stock it is fun to have). The extra ballast can be added to any year model though, you do not have to have the 2014+ to do this.
The 2013 model will hold and handel just as many people as the 2014+ models no real difference on seating capacity. Also the 343 motor with the "high altitude prop: is all we have ever needed, from surfing, pulling up a slalom skier, tubing with the kids, or really sacing the boat out it has never had an issue. Although when we add 3-4k lbs you have to distribute the weight properly and it will plane no problem.

Thanks Hoss. Do you think the new hull has made a big difference in the wake or the ability to shape it? Am I reading it right, you think the stock ballast puts out a good surf and wakeboard wake w/o the need for extra ballast, but extra ballast can make it more fun? Also, who would you recommend to contact at Buxton's?

Did you see this 230 in the For Sale section? Might not be the color you want and might not be within your budget ($89,000) but it sure looks nice!

You need the extra ballast for the surf wake. Have them upgrade the 400's that come with the pro ballast to 750's. The 750's will work with the trays (2014 and newer). They may not fill completely with the trays in place, but the extra weight definitely helps with the surf wake. Make sure you use the ballast screen on the linc to fill them and run the pumps until water spits out the vents. Our current surf setup is belly full, rear tanks and piggybacked 750's full, hydro gate vert, NSS 2, speed 10.5-10.6 mph. This works very well. If we have a limited number of people in the boat, I usually dump about 150-200 pounds of ballast out of the Port side when we are surfing regular. I also added an integrated bow sac. This may help with wakeboarding, but with wake surfing my wife and I prefer the setup above. The IBS lengthened the wave a little bit, but it lost a lot of push with this setup. The electronic throttle didn't come in until 2015. I would also recommend heated seats if you are prone to cooler weather or your trying to extend the season. My kids and wife love them.

Thanks for the heads-up. If you are referring to the 2014 gray with orange stripe - that is exactly what we are looking for but I have a boat that I need to trade. Don't really want to try to sell outright...

Sorry, when surfing on the regular side I dump the weight out of the starboard side not port.
