    NSS issues with 2012 210

I just had NSS installed by my dealer on my 2012 210. Last year with stock ballast and no NSS, kids and I (me 165 lb) could surf a decent, formed wave.

I am still home 1500 miles away, but the rest of the family got the boat out today. With full stock ballast, 3 adults, 3 kids and 9-10-11 MPH testing, the NSS on both sides produced absolutely no visible change in any part of the wake on either side. They say at idle they can see nothing extending from under the plates.

So I figure, its not functioning at all. But what is strange, all of last years LINC settings for the kids produced a rideable wave for them. Same settings today is just white wash, no wave they can ride.

Any ideas whats going on here.

    Thanx

Family did this, and so did I. Go back make sure the NSS is on, when trying to use and yes I forgot this and almost lost my mind.

Here's one way to tell if there is a problem. When they start up and turn off for the first and last time do they hear the drives pulling in? They always attempt to make sure that they are fully in when starting the boat and turning it off, usually hear them as the LINC panels is warming up.

IF not, try to reset fuses. Both are plugged in at the transom just above the units themselves, make sure they weren't unplugged for some reason.

The NSS plates only extend after 8 mph. You won't see them extended at the idle position. Like 4th ski-doo said, make sure that the NSS is "ON" on your screen. Also, once you're up to surf speed, look back at the side opposite of your surf wave, you should see water splashing away from the boat caused by the extended NSS plate.

First thing I thought was the NSS wasn't turned on. Hope it's just that. You will feel the boat lean a bit when the NSS extends.

When riding you ought to be able to see a difference in how water flows around the back of the boat from the opposite side of where you surf.

Thanks to all. So **** hard to troubleshoot any boat issue when the wife just says "it doesn't work" but has no understanding or interest on how to work through to a solution. For her a Nautique is a great mobile tanning unit.

Mobile tanning unit. Yes I have seen that in action too many times.

Yep she figured it out. She was testing it out without a surfer, so she didn't set the speed control. I guess speed control must be ON for the system to engae.

She reports the kids love the wave, but by the pictures she has sent me she has got to dial in a bit more--which i do not think she is interested in figiting with all the possibilities.

I think I am going to order some ballast bags today, so when i get up to the lake, I can shape it up a bit better.

That's great to hear and glad it wasn't anything major. I have a 2013 and here is my setup. I have the hard tanks removed and 1100lbs bags in back and piggy backed bow bags under front seats.

                    Goofy:
                    Fill all belly
Port fill full until water coming out of overflow then dump until screen reads 1/4
Starboard fill until overflow then back down to 3/4 or 5/8.
                    NSS 0
                    Speed 10.5

                    Regula:
                    Fill all belly
Port fill then dump to 3/4
                    Starboard dump to 1/8
                    NSS 0
                    Speed 10.1

This gets adjusted depeding on fuel level and number of people on boat. Regular wave needs more of a lean to get nice wave, Goofy would be good level but better with slight lean.

You'll get a great wave with your 210! iamcdn runs about the same set-up that I used to run. Now we have a 2014 210 and are loving it!

I can't believe with that much weight you are only running 10.1 MPH. We have 700 total in each rear locker and the 370 tube in the ski locker and run between 10.5-10.8. We typically set NSS to 3 so maybe that is the difference.

I honestly have never been able to get NSS above 1 and have a nice wave. Maybe I need to go faster. Will check it out next time.

It does seem to flatten it out but seems to be a longer and stronger wave. We aren't good surfers at all, but everyone seems to be able to ride this wave better than the shorter tall wave.
