    • 2014 Nautique G23 550Hp

New Member and glad to be here but need help!!!! No Bashing please just help!! Thanks

New member just looking for some advice. I have removed names not my intention to bash anyone just curious how everyone would feel?? Thank you in advance.

    To Whom it may Concern,

I am very unsatisfied with my experience purchasing a 2014 Nautique G23 through **************************. I would like to tell you the series of unfortunate events I've had to deal with immediately following my purchase in hopes to figure out a way to fix this ongoing problem.

    I bought a brand new leftover 2014 G23 for approx. $120,000.
When the boat was delivered the stereo was not set up, not tuned properly, and the speakers were not working. Till this day I have not been supplied with a copy of my sales documents. I was never given a walk through or a tour of the boat and all the features. To my knowledge no normal pre-delivery inspections or walk through was performed.

Shortly after purchasing the boat I expressed to ************ at ******** that the boat was taking more than normal water in the bilge area and that the amps and speakers need to be tuned. He instructed me to leave the batteries on at all times and that they would tend to the speakers (till this day after numerous service stereo still not tuned properly).

After work on June 2nd 2015 my brother finds my boat with the swim platform about 8 in underwater and the bilge area filled to the floor with water and running nonstop, so I contact Boat House to have the boat inspected. They tell me that the sea strainer is cross threaded and leaking badly. I am told that somebody had to have disconnected and reconnected the sea strainer because it wasn't like that when the boat was delivered otherwise the boat wouldn't of floated for 3 weeks. ******************takes the boat and gets the sea strainer fixed then finds out it is throwing an overheat code but has gone away. They did these repairs with no signed authorization and I was not supplied with or charged for services. I drive the boat to my dock and it throws an overheat code while driving. ***** at ************* instructs me to "take it easy" on the boat and the will get to it during the next week.

I pick up the boat and take it out the next day. At first the boat starts and runs but is very under powered and the transmission is making an abnormal noise. I turn off the boat to restart it but this time it will not start. I find melted wires on the back of the alternator, the bilge area still covered in sea scum uncleaned, battery boxes full of water which was clearly never emptied out, and battery cables covered in corrosion (considering boat was just services for a water leak you would think these items would already be corrected)

At this point when I contact *************** they blame me for the damage, for the SECOND time since I ran across the first issue, and tell me the boat will need electrical repairs including alternator and starter, new batteries and wiring.
This turns into an argument simply because I am being blamed for all of the damage and they do not feel they are responsible for the repairs.

When I go to ************** the owner tells me, "to his understanding" that I have caused all of this damage and it is not covered under warranty. He also says that my boat may never be right and he is unsure of the future of my boat. I would hope you could understand my serious frustration at this point with ******************* as a whole, due to the fact that my NEW purchased boat is not even usable and I am being blamed. If *************** is unsure of the future of my boat how is that supposed to make me feel as an owner!!!

This is not the boat I thought I was purchasing to take out on the water with my family, as I now would not feel safe or reliable.

************** agrees with me that if I make an insurance claim to cover water damage they will do a trade and do a substitution of collateral with the bank for a 2015 Nautique G 21 with less options and smaller motor but at this point i will almost take anything to get away from my current G23.

After making the claim and giving them all the information they need they decide they do not want to go through with the discussed plan. I was blown off for 2 hours and finally decide to leave the dealership.

They finish the repairs and send me an invoice for $5800 which I submit to my insurance and is pre approved. When I try to pick up my boat they tell me I can't do so until I pay it in full, I find this odd due to the fact that they are working directly with my insurance company but i pay the bill anyway, excited to finally be able to take my boat out with my family.

After taking the boat out for its repaired maiden voyage there are still issues. Transmission is STILL making noise on deceleration, no power, and the same high temperature code comes up AGAIN.

I am extremely unsatisfied with my experience at *************** and I feel as though I spent $120,000 on a boat that is NOT brand new. I no longer wish to try to work this out through ****************** but to hopefully get some resolution going directly through Nautique, a company that I have trusted to put my family and I in when we want to make memories on the water.

Please understand my frustration in this matter, although it may be small to some, it is a very large problem to me.

I hope you will choose to contact me at your earliest convenience. Below is my contact information to get in touch with me.

Hoping this message finds you well and happy boating!!!

    **************

I got to be honest either you are employed by a Nautique competitor and trying to trash the brand or your are really getting screwed. I've seen fake posts like this on other forums so anybody on here is not going to side with you initially. You bought the most bad a$$ G23 and never joined the forum until now? That looks really suspicious.

IF what you say is true you need to be working with your dealer and Nautique. You're story is tough to believe plus you paid the $5,800 repair bill. Who does this? If true you'll be taken care of of. Ball is in your court. Time to man up and fend for yourself. Get your dealer and Nautique on the phone at the same time.

JoeA you are 100% right but I just bought the Nautique in May was a leftover 2014. I have spent most of my ownership dealing with this issue not joining wonderful forum to meet other cool owners. I am a dealer myself but not a boat dealer. I paid the bill so that I could get my boat back and take it out with my family instead of waiting on my insurance for 20+ days which was their expected turnaround currently for boat claims. I have no interest in trashing anybody especially not Nautique that's why I removed the names. I am not your typical G 23 owner I have young children and have always love nautiques I figured why buy and trade and lose money just by the best right out of the gate. I am being blamed for removing and cross threading something that honestly may be embarrassing but I don't even know what it does yet. Was just looking for other owners advice and thoughts on what they would do if put in my shoes. Thank you for reading my post and taking the time to respond.

Sorry for you pain. This is hind sight but before I'd layout $120k I would have done a web search on the dealer, checked with other customers and I would have insisted on a delivery demo with everything perfect before I made the deal.

Nautique has been great with warranty for me...through my dealer, Buxton.

I would contact Nautique , if you are a dealer for other items , then you probably already know that.

As a boater you have to have some level of proficiency to operate. Every member on this site knows that the first time you take a boat out, and the first time of every season, and the first time after any extensive repair, you run the the boat on the trailer on the ramp for 5-10mins to ensure no leaks, engine is cooling and running properly. It's your responsibility to know the basics of your boat and how to remedy issues.

You are a dealer? Of what? Every consumer knows to demo and test ride, get questions answered, and get any work done prior to delivery and payment. transaction basics here.

So you went to your dealer, threw $120k at him, and found yourself in the middle of the lake nearly sunk? Now you are trashing your dealer and Nautique with this story. Amp tuning is something to have done prior to delivery or over winter layup. It's not a 911 summer emergency service call.

You need to slow down. Learn how to boat safely, take a course, link up with wakeboat friends who can show you the ropes. I'm not bashing but you have more money than common sense and boating experience. Can only imagine you on the water . Right now you are running around with your hair on fire making things worse. Slow down, learn how to operate your boat, talk to your dealer and think your way through this.

Still having a hard time believing this. And by the way you titled this thread it's clear you are active online. Would not be surprised if this was a WakeWorld troll attack. Random G pics don't prove anything.

Hello, beeing a warranty administrator myself, I would contact Nautique directly and get in touch with there warranty administrator. Please when you do this keep a level head. If you go harsh I can guarantee you you will get no help. First thing is to express your situation, then after he advises you what to or how to proceed ask him if he or who makes the decisions on how this will proceed. If he gives you a different name don't ask to be transferred. Call back later and talk directly with that person. As weird as it sounds, most of the time we work together and try to get you taken care of but almost always the management will not allow anyone to just cave on the first attempt. It's a shame but that's how it works. Good luck and don't loose it on them. Don't except know but just be cordial.

First off I'll repeat not bashing anyone that's why I removed all names. Sea strainer being cross threaded got worse as time went on and led to all issues. I definitely should have caught some of these issues and been more insistent on a full demo and explanation but some might think if you spend this much money the dealer would take the lead on this. I don't claim to be a master boater or wake boarder this is my family boat and we chose a g23. I have extremely limited time off and seriously rely on my dealer to keep things up to snuff. You can bash me or call me an idiot or whatever. I am obviously not happy with the situation but I'm not here to kick and scream or argue just wanted some advice.

I believe Nautique requires the dealer to go over everything pre-delivery and have the owner sign for it.

Shag, you probably right.....but has anyone on here that has taken delivery of a new Nautique checked to see if the sea strainer was screwed on properly?? I didn't at the dealer. And also.....that plastic is pretty hard to cross thread. Threads are spaced pretty good.

I took delivery in April and ran the boat for two hours before I signed off on the delivery checklist. Dealer showed me how to use the boat and answered every question on the spot.

Well good news is your insurance covered the flooding issue.

Since the dealer fixed and accepted your $5800 the honus is on them now to work the issues off ASAP. You need to deal with the service manager directly.
