99 Super Sport - Loss of Speed and Burning Smell

Need some help? Late last summer we had a slight burning smell when we were using the boat at higher speeds. Took the boat into the dealership, they spent 2 months working on it, and then we had to put it up for winterization. They then spent 2 more months this spring. Their conclusion was corroded wire connections. Just used the boat yesterday to barefoot and made it around 2 corners and the third corner I lost speed and started smelling the burning smell. Thoughts, don’t want to take it back to the mechanic???

I don't know if perhaps your alternator belt is slipping and burning up while the battery might be draining below 12V reducing electric fuel pump volume? Wild guess
