    Yeti Cooler

    Guys,

Down here in Texas the $12 igloo cooler that comes with our boat just won't cut it. I put a Yeti 75 and mounted it using the Yeti strap kit. I used through bolts instead of the supplied screws. I have also shortened the straps that cannot be seen in this pic. It works like a champ and gives a great new seat while chilling in the cove. There is still plenty of room to get into my wakeboard. I bought the raised letters from NP for less than $30. Ice for days...

I do the same thing with my 50. Except I turn the cooler the other way, so its easier to grab drinks from the boat.

Do you notice any wake differences and how do you re-adjust (weight in the bow)? I think we would miss the platform but living in TX we need the extra insulation. I'm going to do the Great-Stuff around the cooler box and see it that works.

Full, my 50 can't weigh more than 75lbs. Not enough to matter IMO.

Wait, you folks mounted a cooler to the platform of your boat?

Maybe you guys have different results, but I've not been real impressed with my Yeti during normal cooler use. If you are in/out of it getting drinks and whatnot (which is the whole point of having a cooler on the boat) the ice doesn't seem to last any longer than a $30 Igloo cooler.

Now if you want to use it as food/drink storage for a trip and rarely open it that ice will last forever! For normal day trips I just use an Igloo cooler though.

If by mount, you mean ratchet strap it down on lake day, then yes. It goes on saturday morning, and off saturday night or sunday morning.
