They aren't identical. Fitting in my garage was a big deal when I ordered my boat and trailer so I did a lot of measuring. The G21 is shorter chine-to-rubrail by about 1" (I can't remember the exact measurement). This means the gunnel and high point on the tower sit just a bit higher than the G21. More importantly, the 21 is a bit narrower at the chine allowing the boat to sit a bit lower o the trailer (because it can sit lower between the fenders--the fenders are the clearance obstable) v. the G23.
The standard CTW trailer supplied by my dealer lets a G21 fit inside an 8' garage. The G23, however, misses by a few inches. I had CTW make my trailer wider than standard (still legal w/o permit in CA, though some states require an inexpensive permit) to let the boat sit lower. The net result was I got it under an 8' door with some room to spare.
