    Cooler for an SV211

So - The stock cooler in the boat kinda sucks for my applications, not to mention that you need to back-fill the cooler with foam so that it's not getting heat straight from the engine (grrrr).

Anybody have any recommendations of things that fit either under the pax seat, under the rear fold-out seat, or somewhere else that's useful, accessible under-way, and otherwise non-obtrusive for this purpose?

In the past I've used an igloo cube, but it can tend to get very heavy, rather quickly, and I'm looking for other options.

    Thanks!

I tried to use the built in one too, but found it woefully inadequate, plus it would just fill the bilge with water as the ice melted. I have gone back to using a soft sided cooler like this:

    http://www.amazon.com/AO-Coolers-Pac...+sided+coolers

I put it up under the windshield in the walk-thru, just behind the bow filler cushion. It is far enough forward, if I needed in the ski locker I can just till the cooler with the lid and it is "out of the way" back aft.

I take out the springboard seat and put it there. Occasionally it slides some but overall works fine. I also have a soft sided cooler that fits good under the walk-thru

My 2004 has a door in the walk-thru that opens for access to a standard sized cooler. There are little black plastic guides on 3 sides that hold it in place. You have to put it in by opening up the big passenger love-seat, but once in, you can open the door and get to the drinks easy. That said, I don't always need something that big, so was thinking of just getting a smaller AO cooler to stuff in there.

Do you guys not have that spot and door in a 2007?

Im pretty sure the door was an option. I have been in 4 different 211's, and not one of them had it. I saw there was one on ebay and listed here for sale.

I have thought about buying it, it does seem like a much more handy way to get towels out too, vice booting the person sitting there out...

yeah - that's optional on an SV-211. I was thinking that I'd love to have that for a trash-can to live in, too...

I believe it was just a standard igloo cooler, but came as part of the option to have the cooler access door on the port side in the bow walk thru area.

This isn't a 211, I am not sure is this is a 220 or what, but same principle. you can see where the door is in the walk-thru.

There was a door on here for sale from the guy parting out the 220, I just don't know about cutting that large a hole in the boat.. It might help with venting the sub, if you could also cut "slits" in the cooler door.

The cutting into the side of the boat is what I'm hesitant about....

Frankly I'm probably just going to get a big cooler that will roll into the boat and sit somewhere near the back...

I just use an Igloo Marine Grade cooler. Its 48 or 54 qt cant remember for sure. It fits perfectly in the window walk through. I keep it back far enough that I (the driver) can reach a drink whenever I want without getting out of the drivers seat. I put a flip flop under the rear edge of the cooler so it doesn't slide to the rear of the boat when we take off. The other thing it does by having it in this location is it slows the kids down when running from the bow to the back of the boat.
Ice doesn't last more than a day in Georgia heat, but we also open the lid constantly so I don't know that a Yeti would do much better in this scenario.

Yes, what nukemustang shows is just like what I have... but I wouldn't cut a whole in my boat to add it in.
