G23 is now 5900 lbs. +500 lbs, wonder where she hides that weight.

I asked Greg Meloon, and he said it is just general fiberglass and other modifications to the hull.

I think most of you put too much emphasis in the "game changer" advertising. I called it early on... Hull tweaks, interior changes, graphics, stereo options, engine options. Unfortunately I missed the live feed, but sounds like I didn't miss much because of quality. I would like to see more specs once they become available. What is the joystick for? It looks like a way to navigate the dash screen to me. The vent at the dash I assume is for windshield defrost? I could instantly tell of the change in the bow area, but couldn't see much else from the pictures. Did they put LEDs behind the NNS plates? Seems like an expensive, but overall useless option. The driver;s seat looks like it could be comfortable, but didn't notice much else changed about the interior.

Joystick is for controlling the LINC system. There are no more LINC system buttons. You can use it as a touchscreen or use the joystick. Both seem quite functional.

Vent at the dash is part of the audio system. It is supposed to sound incredible. I'll find out tomorrow.

Driver's seat is very nice. Supportive, yet not restrictive. Still swivels, but easier to get in and out of, and easy to turn around in.

The 1 thing it is missing is ram fill I love everything else!

Jeff could you please ask - perhaps JD or another rider if the wakeboard wake has changed at all with the hull update?

I asked Greg Meloon, and he said the wakeboard wake hasn't changed. All of the hull changes were made beyond the point in the hull that creates the wakeboard wake, so no changes there. Hull changes affect the surf wave only.

Did they do anything about the fact that for decent subwoofer sound you have to do so much modification after it leaves the factory?

Major upgrades here. There is a two-sub option and the bass is channeled through the sides of the boat. Really cool stuff here.

Horsepower AND TORQUE numbers!

5.3L H5 - 355 HP, 405 ft/lb
6.2L H6 - 450 HP, 465 ft/lb
6.2L Supercharged H7 - 550 HP, 545 ft/lb

These ratings are all using 87 octane gas, except the 550. Using premium will increase these numbers, but Nautique wanted to publish the lowest numbers so any improvement would just be icing on the cake.

I saw them in person....Gamechanger...can't tell yet from them sitting on the trailer. I would say more like half-time changer. They had two G23's and one G25...no G21. First thing you notice is the change at the bow...I think it made it a bit uglier. Nautique rep did mention to me that this would now be a drier riding G23....like someone mentioned above. This due to the slight hull change on the side pockets up front. Didn't really hear any of the stereos, but the JL tower speakers do look pretty slick. I guess I could have saved 25 bucks in gas..but I met some REALLY cool boat owners from Austin. Sail and Ski Austin also did a first rate job with the actual site and displays. Pretty cool setup. I would say the only "Gamechanger" for me tonight was the ribs from Stubbs.....They were outstanding !!!! One more thing to add...I personally like the star graphic on my 15 G21 better then the ones I saw tonight. Just my 2cents. Can't wait to hear Jeff's comments about the ride, wake and stereo after tomorrow's session. Still proud to have an outdated 2015 Nautique in the garage!!!

Nice marketing effort by Nautique Boats. Builds the hype and the brand but really nothing else. Still the best boat out there by a mile - no question. Quality way above the competition. But really - what is going to push me to spend this kind of money? Really not a "gamechanger" but rather a brand evolution.

There are less than 1% of the G owner population who can realize the performance potential of the G line. You tell me you can do what we saw tonight on the intro video and I'll call BS. Great editing but no way a 50-ish guy (probably the age demographic for the G line) is going to do those inverts or ever surf to that degree of competency.

I appreciate the effort - this was obviously way beyond anything Nautique has previously done and I am sure the next "gamechanger" presentation will make this one look like a circus side show. Congrats on the evening and the presentation. Clearly a lot of work and effort went into this night.

Please continue to innovate and be the best the industry has to offer. I could not image owning anything but a CORRECT CRAFT / NAUTIQUE!

Love the boat but I am keeping mine.

Did anybody see clamping racks or hydraulic steering on any of the boats? These ought to be standard options for a boat at this level.

I already have a 17 inch prop and a 2:1 transmission. I think the only interior change is the driver's seat and maybe some lettering on the seadek. I think most of the gearheads I listen to tell me that direct injection is not really going to provide all that much additional torque or efficiency, just an incremental increase at best.

The new screen, new hull and audio upgrade are huge changes for a boat manufacturer.

It looks like the 550 engine gets the 2:1 tranny so that is a change for 2016. I'd be curious to see what prop they use. On the 2015 it's a 15". OJ Props or Acme on these 2016s?

Was mainly asking about the 550 since that's what we'd be replacing. As far as I understood, no real changes as far as the engine goes, the new DI engines (H5 and H6) replace the old 409/450. The H7 is just the old supercharged 550 rebranded. 550 now comes with 2:1 tranny with upgraded drive shaft (or something similar, not a motor head) and other parts for the additional load. I was told 17" prop across the board for the boats but that may be incorrect, didn't ask what manufacturer. Wakeboarder I was talking to had been testing the new 550 setup and was happy with how it performed with >5000 pounds of ballast over stock.
