Great editing but no way a 50-ish guy (probably the age demographic for the G line) is going to do those inverts or ever surf to that degree of competency.

Maybe not, but it doesn't stop us from trying and the G makes it a lot easier. Plus our high school and college age kids love it. Should we be offended?

Hey Jeff it looks like the interior may have a different type material. That dark colored section is what Im refering to. Is it differnet or just look that way in pics?

Neverenough....the darker material you see in the pic looks to be the same "Gunmetal flake" accent that I have in my 15 G21...it is a different material then my seats. It feels REALLY cool compared to the normal vinyl....and I don't mean temperature cool...just a really nice material.

The gunmetal upholstery is awesome! Had it in my last two boats. It feels different than any other color offered, and it is the only metal flake vinyl option.

Ended up demoing the G25 this morning. Was excited to see the changes for the surf but was pretty disappointed in the experience. Conditions were poor so hard to really get a gauge on the wave but did some surfing on several boards and was having trouble even staying in the wake. I'm not a expert surfer by any means but can cut around all I want and get a little air. When I was surfing the wave would suddenly turn into a washy foam with very little push. This seemed to coincide with choppy water but I take our G23 out in chop once in a while and never have any issues like that. It seemed like the boat would get hit by a wave and the surf system would get confused and make a crappy wave for the next 5 seconds or longer.

Was pretty bummed not being able to do anything looking like I'd never wake surfed before. After I get back in I ask what the ballast is at and it turns out all the tanks were full. The stock setting in the old G series is to have the belly half full (not sure what the new is, didn't see the menus). Asked the driver to change it to have the belly half full and the wake started looking nicer and more stable. I feel like the Nautique employee should know enough about the boat to set the ballast correctly. I never went out again after switching the ballast so can't comment on that. The pro surfer went after the switch and looked good but I'm sure he could look good surfing with any ballast setting.

It also took forever for the wake to form, several time it was in the 15-20 second range before it smoothed out at all. We tried switching the surf sides on the fly and it took FOREVER. It seemed to get stuck for 15 seconds with no smooth surface on either side. I mentioned how slow it was and they just talked about how fast it is now (?? much slower than our '13 g23). Later the boat just shut off when one of the other people on the boat was driving. Maybe his knee hit the off key but he didn't seem to think so.

I understand it is a new launch so there will be bugs but it was annoying how no one would acknowledge anything and probably didn't set the ballast correctly. I'll probably try to demo the G23 later and try surfing with the ballast set correctly. Hopefully the problems I saw were just related to this single boat.

edit: Don't want to come off too negative. Pros with us were very friendly and was fun to talk to them. Let me ride his board etc. Just wish the boat had worked better and staff more forthcoming about the issues.

Wow, that's the opposite experience I had in the G23. The wave formed instantly and switched instantly too. Much faster than my '15 G23. Pumps are 20% faster as well.

Conditions were terrible, even at 8:00 AM. The cliffs just pushed the waves right back into the channel.

It was fine when I was out there, but it was early. I was only out until about 10:00.

At least for me, the only thing game changing are the motors. 5.3 is now plenty for the 200.

I took out a G21 this morning with the 5.3 and it is a great fit for that boat. Full ballast and several people onboard and it jumped right up on plane very quickly. I would certainly consider that engine if you're in the market for a G21. It is quite a bit better than the 5.7.

Did they put LEDs behind the NSS plates? Seems like an expensive, but overall useless option.

Nope. There were a bunch of blue LED light stands around the boats, and that's what made it look like that. Those light stands made getting good pictures very difficult.

What ballast was that? 2850lbs OEM plus XXX lbs 8 adults?
