    Lightweight Mooring Cover

I have searched PN but have not found the right answer ...

I am looking for a lightweight mooring cover to put on my '01 Pro Air. The boat stays on a lift and gets used 3-4 days a week. It is difficult to thoroughly dry out the boat in humid NE Texas, but leaving the boat uncovered equals never ending cleanup. The spiders and dirt-dobbers and whatever else make a mess overnight.

My last boat had a cover that worked perfectly for my needs. It was a a custom cover from Canvas Products Company - Boat Cover Warehouse. The fit was great, the cover was easy to work with, and I never had mold. I do not know what the material was, but it was far lighter than the Sunbrella or Sundura biminis I have had. I will call them today to see about something for my newer ride, but I don't think they fit for towers.

I already have a nice, heavy custom-fit cover for longer term storage, but I want something that breathes very well and is easy and quick to put on. Im thinking of something more like a dust cover. Any suggestions?

Yes, I am aware of Evolution and Coversports, but I am cannot spend $1000 at the moment.

    Thanks.

don't know if the ones at nautiqueparts would work, but the "double duck" one kind of sounds like what you are looking for. Mildew resistant, but breathable... I have a sundura one and don't think it breathes well enough to allow all the humidity to escape, but I am also in the swamps in SC. Don't forget the discount too, it helps.

Look into weather max light weight. They make a regular weight plus light weight. This is the material. You would need to get it custom made.

Thanks - I will check into both of these.

Sunbrella is very light and breathable. You may be confusing it with some sort of poly or canvas.

You may be correct. I was wrong about an earlier cover - I contacted the company that made the cover that I liked so much, and I was told that the fabric was Sundura. Unfortunately, that company doesn't make a cover to fit my model with a tower and to cover the swim platform. My current cover (came with the boat) is some sort of canvas that seems to provide great protection, and it is well made, but is heavy and cumbersome for my use. For now I'll keep working with it and may add a vent or two.
