What's your setup and do you happen to have video? Thanks.

Check this thread out. I fill my trunk, locker and one sack on the floor in the surf corner, but haven't been able to get enough push to let go of the rope. Still a work in progress.

I surf my '99 SN ropeless all the time. About 1800 lbs of total weight (people, sacs, gas, etc) is the magic number. I run a custom 900 lb sac in the back. You can run a 450 on the surf side plus some assorted folks sitting at the observers seat, engine, etc.
I built a gate and it's highly effective. I can split the weight between the sides and the wave is much longer. The gate is really much more of a hull extension than a gate. Too much angle on the gate and it washes out the wave.
Goofy is better then regular. I am 150 and ride a Ronix carbon thruster or a power tail. My buddy who is 210 can ride those boards or an IS Blue Lake. Both of us ride ropeless. I have two friends on our lake with SANTE 210s. My wave is better than theirs with stock ballast. It's not as good as theirs when we put additional ballast (which we always do.) -Marc

Here are a few pics. I'm away from the boat right now but I can get some other pics in about two weeks.
At first I used just a simple gate (above the cutout) but it didn't move enough water. I went with this design to capture the water from the cutout as well.
I also tried an NSS version but I could not get it to work well. I do plan to try a Gen 2 setup and see how that works as well. I tried this setup using Lencos but one side would wash out the other so I removed it and went back to a static system.
Needless to say, I have less than $5 dollars invested in this. Once I truly have the system I want I will have it fab'd at a shop. I don't surf on my boat as much in the middle of summer because I can always catch a ride on my neighbor's boats. What I love about this system is it does not affect the ski wake. This has been a very good year for skiing for me, and that's been taking up most of my time. -Marc
