Is it just me or does it seem like there have been more problems with the Linc? Seems as though PN members are posting about problems every week now... Not trying to whittle down the linc system (a lot of the features I'm sure are nice), but I sure wouldn't like being out in the middle of a large body of water and not having any gauges... Maybe I'm wrong, just seems like an uptick in problems people are having..... Maybe it's due to more boats out there now with the system.

Mine has been fine too (90 hours). It gets a little slow to switch between screens if it has a lot going on, but no failures requiring a reset at all this year. I think the issues we're seeing may be from LINC systems with outdated firmware code running.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. Good to hear the 100hr boats are doing great; my 350hr boat with latest firmware direct from corporate... Still having unsolved issues. For those of us who buy boats every 5-7 years... I'm worried.

So what happens when the boats are 10+ years old? Will there be support? Replacement units? Looking at a new purchase and wondering if the advantages are outweighed by the prospect of having unsupported technology. I love advances in technology but am a little unsure about having everything wrapped into one unit. Anybody know who makes the Linc units?2018 200 Team H6

The lincs are made by Murphy, google them and you'll see they are a major manufacturer for dozens of industries. Their controls are in much more than boats. I had an issue with mine this spring and while working with my dealer to sort it out I talked to tech support at Murphy, the tech was adamant that practically every issue their tech department sees is related to firmware not the actual units themselves. 99% of the time a reflash or update fixes it and is available through your dealer. Even via email for a self install if need be. My problem this spring was the linc simply wouldn't boot, Murphy thought low voltage caused a firmware problem as this was the first start up of the year, we reflashed and haven't had a problem since. Now at 250 hours on my 4th summer with the boat.

Jim,
You've never kept a boat for 10 years, so buy a 200TE and enjoy the LincI'm sure you've played around with a Linc, but Rob's boat is on the lift in SE if you want to check it out again or get a pull?

Two screen issues in 175 hours. Fix was to turn off boat and batteries and restart.2013 G23 450 with NSS (175hrs) and still have the original prop

I don't personally care for the linc. Had it in two boats and both had issues. I feel like I'm using a 1990 computer with windows sometimes. Reboot, reboot rebootCurrent Correct Craft Boat
