    Pictures of 230 NSS

Can anyone post close-up pictures of an NSS on a 230?
I can't find any on google or the forum. Always photos from 10 feet away.

I want to make one myself on my 2009 but just want to see how they manage the curved and stepped transom. The nearest nautique dealer from me is 1h30....

I don't have a 230, but a quick google image search pulled up a lot of images, here is one.

I need a side view. The transom is kind of curved and the plates are not so I guess there is some kind of shims....

Will you do a write up (how to) afterwards? I also have a 2009 230 I would like to outfit.

As for the write up, I will probably make some extra kits available for others.
First thing I need pictures of the system!

I would think there is not a lot of difference between the 210 and 230 in the case of how it forms to the hull. Not sure if this is what you are looking for, it's our 210.

Here is some pictures from my boat with NSS install ( 2009 SAN 230 ).
If you are looking to create some plates for a older NSS save time and money and go with Wicked Wake or make something like it. We went out on my friends 23 foot Malibu a few weeks ago and he just purchased the WW plates and it was super easy and worked great ! Basically they use 3/4 Plastic that is channeled and fits on to your swim platform and is held in place with a tie down or 2.
I have installed NSS on my 2009 SAN 230 and it cost a lot of money and time when all said and done it was close to $ 4K with me doing the install. Realistically when you use NSS typically it’s used to make the biggest wave you can make with the plate extending all the way. ( what is about 2 inches past the hull of the boat ).
NSS Positive things ( if installing on a non equipped 2012 or older boat ).
                  • Plug and Play on 2012 and up boat’s
                  • Lync integration ( Older boat you can use a switch and LED light to show the plates and deployed ).
                  • Retracts the plates back in if you go over 15 mph automatically.
                    • If not technically it could cause damage to the transom of make it hard to steer the boat.
NSS Negative things ( if installing on a non equipped 2012 or older boat ).
                  • Cost ( for the NSS Plates if you can get them it’s about $ 3300 from a dealer )
                    • If you have a boat older then 2012 you will need a Lenco 2 way controller / switch ( extra $ 400 )
                  • Install things to think about:
                    • You have to drill about 36 holes to install the plates into the transom and the first couple holes are kinda scary when you have a $ 60K boat.
                    • Have to raise your swim platform about 2 inches to clear the RAMs as well as clearance some portions or the deck to clear things.
                    • Takes a while to get it all installed ( I am pretty meticulous when doing things like this and it took me a few full days of work.
                  Wicker Wake Postive things.
                  • Easy to setup
                  • You can unscrew the plastic piece and adjust to find the right settings.
                  • Cheap $ 350 I want to say or around there for both ???.
                  Wicker Wake Negative things.
                  • Storing the Wicked Wake Plates since they are around big 25 long X 15 wide X 15 deep
                  • You typically have 1 for each side goofy and regular.
Wicked Wake ( I have no affiliation with Wicked Wake the pictures are from NSS Install on my 2009 230 SAN).

Wow Dave, exactly the type of info I needed.
As for the NSS, I can get a kit for 2100$ + 149$ drill template + 400$ lenco switch
That puts me around 2600$ in material.
I don't calculate fiberglass works in this.
Do you think a custom kit could work without having to move the platform?

As for the WW kit, we ride both side so it's kinda big to carry this full time on the boat

Max the swim deck will have to be moved I think no matter what to clear the Top of the Ram. What I used was 2x2 aluminum square tube that's like 14 inches long. The good thing with raising the deck it moves it out of the way. Don't know how much weight you put in your boat, but the corner of my deck would cause a spray. Now it's out of the way.

As you can see what I had to do to clear the RAM pretty easy just used a 4 inch grinder to clearance for the bolt.

In the picture if you imagine that the deck is lower it would hit..

Maybe if you were creating your own plates you could change the location on the plate ? Theses are Genuine Nautique NSS plates from a 2012 - 2013.

The 2014 the rear of the transom is flat instead of being curved like the 2012-2013 model boats.

Another thing they use the short Lenco rams with 2 inches of extension in the Kit. So the ram length will be the same the welds on the plates are pretty clean and tig welded and you would need to cut both the upper and lower mounts off and relocate them.

Raising the swim deck is way better it makes the swim deck the same height of the 2012 and up boats.

Oh I see, I thought you relocated the platform mount on the transom! With just a shim like this it's pretty easy and clean.
Can you tell me what's between the transom and the 1st plate of the nss? Looks like a teflon shim (to match the curved transom)
