Has anyone tried surfing behind a weighted 206? I usually surf behind my buddie's B52 and ski behund my 206. Can it be done? How much weight and what is the optimal weight placement?

RE: Surfing Behind a 206
I've tried surfing behind a 216, which has a slightly larger wake than the 206. Unless you have a boat load of people, or add a lot of aftermarket ballast, don't get your hopes up...I Nautique, therefore I am.

That's what I figured. Can't imagine being able to get the wake big enough to even give it a shot.

RE: Surfing Behind a 206
I HAVE A 206 AND REGULARLY SURF BEHIND IT. WEIGHTED WITH 300 LBS BALLAST AND A BOAT LOAD OF PEOPLE ON BACK RIGHT HAND SIDE. WE ARE ABLE TO DROP THE LINE AND WITH A SLIGHT RIGHT HAND ROTATION SURF INDEFINITELY.

RE: Surfing Behind a 206
Contrary to popular opinion, you do not need a V-drive to surf. You can surf behind a 196 if you weight it properly. For a 206 start with a sack that fills the entire stern locker. Add more sacks/people to the starboard stern seat and add additional sacks/people right in front of the starboard stern seat. Basically you want all the weight concentrated in the right rear corner. Try to get a minimum of 1,000 lbs total weight between sacks and people.2000 Air Nautique Powered by FORD <-- Former Boat
