depends on: the people, the board, your weight.
If you don't have enough people, you can buy something like that http://www.overstock.com/Sports-Toys...6/product.html - they are not to heave and you can move them around.

probably not unless a few ppl are large. But you can get creative about weight and not spend a ton of $$. When I had my 04 we would fill a single 750 fatsac and I had about 360lbs of lead weights that I would move around to tune it.
I"m sure you could find some cheap weight somewhere (craigslist etc.) to use. I bet you could surf ropeless with about 500lbs total.
What board do you ride?19 SANTE 210
08 SANTE 210 ZR6
08 SANTE 230 ZR6
04 Super Air 210 Team Edition Ex343- Loved that boat
96 Sport Nautique GT-40 - First Nautique
88 Baja Ski Sport- First boat

8-10 people. You should be able to do it. I only had my 3 kids and wife. I ride a sweet spot 4.8 too. I'm 190lbs.
Try belly 1/2 full to see if you can get more lean.

I had a 2005, and if you have 8 people, you can def surf the wave... Especially goofy side. You do have to list the boat pretty decent and I actually put some duct tape over just the side vent that we would surf so no water entered. Don't cover both vents at same time.
