I live about 45 minutes away and didn't even know this was happening. Im going to be gone August 3-August 27 to Europe, but I'm not gonna miss this. Im sure the wife is going to kill me.
If you end up going to the wakesurf event it would great to meet another PN member. I am in the process to see who wants to go from our group of friends but am confident I will be there.
I was there last year. It is a fun event. Like most wakesurfing events the attendance is mostly riders with their families. The viewing platform at Callaway is about as close to the action as you can get. Most of the pros that ride go and you can easily meet each of them. If you stay there I would recommend staying in the cottages. The hotel on site is off property and very old. There are many other activities going on at the lake so you can get a large variety of food, bands playing, in water trampolines and such. Callaway Gardens is average at best but it is a laid back family atmosphere! You cannot bring your boat as the lake is small and the competition is the only boat in the lake all weekend.
