I made a mistake in 2013. I sold my 2005 Nautique and bought a Malibu 23 LSV. It looked good on paper, but I never warmed up to it, and truthfully never could get the surf wave the way I wanted. Plenty of people do, so it was probably technique and not the boat.
Last week, I broke down and bought a 2015 Nautique 230, and we spent 5 hours on the water today. What a great boat. It handles the way I think it should, and both the wave and wake were superb and easy to control. What a difference!
The only negative is that while Linc 2.0 is functional, the interface requires too many screen changes and button pushes. The stereo is also a major disappointment. It hisses constantly, and there is a coupling with throttle position. Easily fixed I imagine with some filter capacitors. And truthfully, a small price given how great the boat is used as intended.
Great to be back in a Nautique...
