Any luck changing new 230 surf wake?

Ive been tinkering with ours by adding a little weight to surf side and I'm not getting much change in the wave. While the factory settings w pro ballast are good I'd like to see what else you all have done. So far I've added about 500 lbs to surf side via bags under seat and larger locker bags. When we do this the wave gets pretty steep so I've bumped up the speed to lengthen it a bit. We're up to 11.2 mph and 5 on NSS with the added weight and noticed something today with just the wife and I out surfing. I stood up from the helm to pull the rope in and the wave cleaned up and got longer. We surf goofy side so I was pulling weight from the surf side. I'm thinking about adding more weight to the other side and letting the NSS do its thing.

    Anyone else done anything yet?

Upgrade the rear bags to 750's. For the goofy side we keep things pretty balanced. Typically we run 10.4-10.6 mph, hydrogate vert, NNS 2 with that setup. I f we have a lot of people on board, I try to make sure the human ballast is offset toward the surf side. That or I will dump the non- surf side down to 7/8 full. If you add the 750's, you need to fill everything through the ballast screen and run the pumps until water is spitting out the vents. Same thing with emptying only run the pumps until the wine to let you know they started running dry. I added an IBS also. This was a bit disappointing. It made the wave look nicer, but overall if felt like it lost a lot of the push. The goofy side is better. For the regular wave I always drain the none surf side ballast down to 7/8. I am considering pulling the hard tanks and adding some custom Enzo style sacs.

I don't have a 230 but you may need some additional weigh up front.

Do you have any weight in the bow? If not there is your answer. Fill the 650 full. This will help lengthen the wave. If you are surfing goofy keep the weight balanced. If you have someone that is regular counter weight can help there. Fill port side all the way and starboard 3/4 but not necessary. You should never have more weight on the starboard side. The 750s will help for the days where you only have 2 people out and gas is low but other then that the pro ballast works great.

Did you get a chance to ride with that set-up? I agree the wave looks nice with the bow weight, but it seemed like it lost a lot of the push. The wave does get longer when I fill the IBS (approx 600 pounds). It seemed to add about a foot to the useable wave length based on my starting position once I get up using the rope. With the bow weight I bumped the NNS setting up to 4. Another option I have been considering is adding a 400 pound bag on each side under the seats in addition to the 750's, NNS probably 2.

Found the best so far for us. 750s in lockers full what ever this pic is in bow NSS at 3 11.2mph. 200 lbs worth of ones and wife at helm at 100lbs. Not sure how far in feet back but it's further back than Ive ever been plenty of push. In fact I almost pulled off a 720. That's saying a lot for me since Ive yet to land a 360😃. Lots of fun!!!
