Need Input on Buying 2002-2006 Nautique 201

    Hello all,

I've been browsing the forums, and have a couple questions. IF a thread like this already exists (Im guessing it does) Looking to buy a 02-06 Nautique 210, and looking for the differences on the years.

I found a couple threads that says 2003+ are the GM 5.7, which I am interested in.

2004 has the different tower, and then for 2005 it went back to the older tower? Why?

What's the standard ballast for these boats, and why type of pumps do the use? When did they go to impeller driven pumps?

Tower folds fowards on these boats? Does it clear a 7 foot garage door?

Anything else to look for specific to these boats when buying? I've owned a couple inboards already (Malibu Wakesetter, Mastercraft x2).

    Thanks!!

The 2004 tower was unpopular if I remember correctly. I want to say something about it obstructed vision at certain angles. Tower does fold forward. The excalibur motors are pretty reliable (343 I think).. The fuel pumps (low and high pressure) can be a problem... Possibly related to using ethanol blended fuel. Great boats and have a good wakeboard wake (albeit somewhat steep) and you can surf them decent (with right and correct weight placement).

I don't know the exact height of mine folded down, but my 06 definitely fits below 7'. Mine has the jabsco impeller ballast pumps, I think they switched to them in 05? Stock ballast is around 900 lbs....I have plumbed in the bags and now have about 2600 lbs total. I have no other nautique to compare to, but I love 6.0L ZR6...closed cooling is a plus here. You could look for working ballast gauges with this kind of set up...mine bent before I added a t check valve to alleviate the vacuum issue, and I actually have not replaced them b/c it will probably be better to replace the tanks and bags in the rear with the 750's.

Mine is for sale btw, let me know if you would like more info.
