Slidin post some pic's of your setup when you get it. This past weekend I was ready to take this thing out for some test surfing. I set it up, got going and the little tab the holds the bracket to the swim deck fell off!!! A whole day wasted. So no testing. I hope your testing goes better than mine.

Built mine for prototype tonight. Not completely happy with it yet. Have to tweak it a little to get more pressure pushing the bottom in so it's a little more snug against the boat. Ran out of time or I would have changed it up tonight. Going to try it tomorrow and take some pics.

Well my bracket that resists the horizontal pressure pushing towards the middle of the boat broke after about 10 seconds but it did push the boat to the side and the port wave cleaned up good for a couple of seconds. Think I'm going to re-engineer one that just slides over the swim platform so it's to put on and also will handle the vertical and horizontal pressure easier. And I'm building it out 2x material for rigidity until I get it working properly. Then I'll switch to a thinner stronger material to make the end product.

Have you worked on yours any more? If so post up some recent pics of the fine tuned SWE

No.. my season ran out quickly. We were out camping, then the water levels are dropping quickly, it started getting chili outside. I didn't get to do any more testing. Time to winterize it. But, this winter I already have plans on how to make a simi-permanent plate to attach it too. I will make a plate with the same hole pattern as the spacer on the swim deck bracket and replace the spacer with a plate. I will add some attaching points. Stay tuned. I will keep this SWE thread going.

Did you get do to some testing?? How did it work out?

Well the support I "engineered to hold the bottom tight against the boat broke under pressure after about 30 seconds but it did delay the wave convergence for a few seconds so I just have to get that figured out. Planning on making piece that slides over the edge of the swim platform and attach current revision to that. That way I can have something solid dealing with the vertical lift of the bottom and the horizontal pressure of the water. I don't really want to drill any holes in the hull until I can see the actual results on both sides. Then I will drill holes for a stainless plate and hook up some actuators. Also thinking about trying the mini skate ramp and using suction cups instead of velcro. Who the **** wants to put velcro on their boat???

I put Velcro on mine. Of course my hull is mostly white and black, and I put white and black Velcro on it. It doesn't look idea, that is for sure, but it is not too bad when it's basically the same color as the gelcoat. That said, I have not tested it yet, so if it does not work well, that Velcro is coming off.

If you do put Velcro on, I suggest putting the hard part on the boat and the soft part on the ramp (in case the soft part eventually wears out and because it definitely will get fuzzier over time, which will look progressively worse on the hull).

I just had another thought. I wonder if there is a "decal" of sorts that one could make up of something cool and put that on a plate with Velcro to go on that spot when the ghetto gate is not in use? Not sure what that little drag would do to the wakeboard wake, but if done right, it could actually look kind of cool.

I also wonder what would happen to the wake with a skate ramp on both sides? Of course that would be bad for surfing, but I have no idead what it would do to a wakeboard wake. Maybe it would delay the sweet spot of the wake on both sides and allow riders to ride even farther back with longer ropes? In any event, if you paint the silly thing right (think chrome), it could look like two rocket engines hanging off the side of the boat.
