    help with hydrogate

ive got a newer style 210 and have always struggled with how to properly use the hydrogate. how are you guys using it? surfing, wakeboarding/ skating and just crusing around? ive been using it 90% pushed to front doing everything.

On my 2012 and 2013 210's I used the Hydrogate to clean up the wave for surfing or getting on plane quicker for wakeboarding. On my 2014 210 I only use the Hydrogate for getting on plane quicker for wakeboarding, it is no longer needed to clean up the wave. I just leave it all the way back (vert position)

I constantly adjust mine unless it is really rough and then I have it all the way forward. If wakeboarding it is all the way back, surfing it is forward but the boat is heavily weighted.

When you're wakeboarding or skating pull the gate all the way back. It will give you a way better lip and kick. It will also clean up the wake easier. Having it engaged while at wakeboard speeds weighted up will completely eliminate the kick and give you a really really rampy wake. When I am fully sac'd out the driver will engage the hydrogate (all the way forward) til we get on plane. Then we will pull the gate back. Helps with the holeshot for sure.

When cruising adjust accordingly. Kinda depends on lake conditions. Where ever it gives you the smoothest ride is where it's at.

I usually run the bow ballast full and keep the gate in the middle or all the way forward when I am pulling my young daughters at 18-19mph. Gives them a not so intimidating wake. Anything over 20mph though gate comes fully back on my boat.

Surfing for me.... I prefer a surf style board. So a steeper lip really benefits me. So I run my gate all the way back. For my buddies who are more skim style and do shuv its and lip tricks n spins I run the gate all the way forward.
