    1987 SN 2001 project

Just picked up a 1987 Ski Nautique 2001 project. First prop boat project and I wanted to share it here. Bought it from the 3rd owner. Stayed on the same lake its whole life so the trailer has seen little to no use. Interior needs new skins but the floor is solid. Replacing the 351 because it has some lower end noise. I’m thinking spun bearings. Right now the motor is out and I’m prepping the new engine for installation. Cleaned up the transmission and this week will be detailing the engine bay. After installing the engine and getting it dialed in I will wax the hull and treat the teak. Originally bought it as a project to fix and sell but I’m starting to like the idea of a mid-engine boat. Just wanted to say thanks for all the information on this forum and im looking forward to sharing my progress.

Sweet looking boat--lets see it shine! Nice interior. Lots of guys on Correct Craft Fan will help you with anything you need technically especially with the 2001. That is a popular boat with that crowd.

That gel will come back nicely with just a good wheel out. That boat is dripping potential!
