any info on these engines. The H6 direct injection 6.2 is the replacement for the 409,450? How is it cooled?

These ratings are all using 87 octane gas, except the 550. Using premium will increase these numbers, but Nautique wanted to publish the lowest numbers so any improvement would just be icing on the cake.
They will still be cooled the same as before...open cooling for the normal engines, closed cooling for the coastal engines. I also believe these new engines have a little more torque than previous generations. Don't quote me on that but I feel like I read that somewhere.

That was from a previous thread posted by NautiqueJeff

The current 450 is a hybrid cooling system. Please forgive if that is not the exact term. But the antifreeze actually cools the engine, then goes to a heat exchanger that is cooled by lake water, basically a radiator like on a car. So Lake water never gets to my engine. But it is not completely sealed like the coastal engines, and not completely water cooled like most other boats.

I drove a G21 with the H5, and with full stock ballast (2,850 lbs.) plus three or four people, it jumped right up on plane and was very responsive. I was very impressed with this engine during my testing.I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. H7 can be either the XR-7 (550) or the XS-7 (550). i was told by dealer that only coastal engines will be closed cooled. The new H5 and H6 engines (355 hp and 450 hp) will only be all water cooled. No antifreeze options. Not like the 15's
(409 hp, 450hp) that are half and half. I think that will be be a drawback to anyone that has to winterize their motor. Only dealing with draining exhaust and tranny is a bonus. Plus heaters seem to last much longer with antifreeze than lake water, and you don't have to winterize them as well.2016 G23
