    2015 SAN230 Wakeboard Setup

Curious to how people are setting up their 230's for wakeboarding. Can't seem to find the optimal setup. Obviously I'd like the biggest, cleanest wake possible. Thanks for your thoughts.

We are still working on the proper weighting, but our current setup for our 2015 is 550 sac in each rear locker (plus hard tanks), 750 sac in the middle uptowards the driver, plus a 650 sac under the front seats and stock hard tank up front. We usually ride with about 6-8 people and move accordingly to keep wake clean. Always have lever pushed forward to get to speed then pull it back. We ride about 23-23.5 70-75ft back.

I have a 2014 230 with 800lbs of lead and 750's swapped into the back lockers. For wake boarding I fill the belly tank full and have the back lockers 3/4 full. For the lead I have 240 lbs under the seats opposite the driver (we are often out with a 2 man crew) and the other 560lbs is in the bow. We ride at 70ft, 23.7mph with the hydrogate typically all the way back (vert). I used to fill the rear ballast completely, but that made the wake a little soft and sensitive unless we speed up to 24.5. For surfing I filll everything completely and move 6 lead bags (240lbs) from the nose to the rear of the boat. We surf at 11mph and have a great wave on both sides with no other changes required. Final comment, I also move some of the lead to the rear (or remove it) if there are any passengers sitting in the bow as otherwise the boat gets nose heavy and can take on water too easily.

What speed are you wanting to be at and how many people usually in boat. The weight in the bow is key and depending on number of passengers you will probably want at least 200 - 300 lbs of lead on opposite side of driver towards the middle of the boat. Your other option is to fill port side rear ballast 1/4 more than starboard side. Hydro gate all the way back. In short the faster you go the more weight you can put in the back. The slower you go the more weight needs to be up front. Usually over 21 is not a problem.
