    Weighting SAN01 for surf

    Hey guys!
Right now i'm weighting my SAN01 for wakesurf with my stock ballast port side full with a 450lbs fat sac in the center plus 400lbs of people in front and in the middle but the result isnt what i want. I have two more fat sac of 250lbs that I can use but not sure where to use it in my 01. I know the wake is better starboard but port side is our side.
    Thank you guys!

I would lay one 250 on the port side bow and set the other on the port side rear seats. These boats are really sensitive to the weight, so even shifting bodies can make a big difference. I usually have people sitting on the sundeck and up on the side of the boat. It would also really help to pull the rear hard tank and replace with 750's.

750 rear surfside, 580 belly, 350-400 surf side bow, 400 on surf side main cabin seats (or human weight). Run at 10.3 mph. Report experience.

Note, you might be able to add a little to the offside rear too, but I didn't last time I went out, and the wave was pretty decent for this hull. Reasonably clean, plenty of push, and I could ride within a decent front-to-back window.

Forcing these boats to surf the "wrong" side without some type of wake shaping/off camber device is rather difficult, and requires a lot of weight. You *might* want to look into one of the built-a-wake contraptions, as they will likely be cheaper than the amount of ballast bags you'll end up buying

Just sold my 2001, I had a 1100 in the rear port locket (removed the stock ballast and not sure how much it weighed when full in the locker, 600 in the ski locker (again not sure if it was truly 600# when full. If it was just the family (wife and 2 kids 6yo and 8yo) I would add a 400 on the port seat and a 400 on the back port seat. Surfs good at 10mph gps.
