second thoughts about selling my 2015 G21

I was thinking of selling my 2015 G21 and moving to a 2016 G23. Now I any having second thoughts when I look at and review the new motors. I have the 409 dual cooled motor in my boat and would the get 450 or H6 in the G23 but they are no longer dual cooled. They means more work to winterize, a heater that only works when your up to speed, and a motor that has not been proven yet. I guess the 550 would be the right move, but i don't want to have that much more money vested in a boat that i can put 60 hours per year on.

I really did not think I would like the G21 so much better than my 2012 210. The boat is so much nicer in so many ways.

Is a 2015 G23 a possibility since you prefer the engine cooling design? Or are you more interested in the new updates?

I don't think I would let those things hold you back.

The technology has been around quite a while, so although it is new in a wakeboat application, it is not all that new in the car and truck world. I am not sure I would feel it is a guinea pig situation. The touchscreen is in its first year with Nautique, so that would frankly scare me more.

The heater has a fix too. Used to be a common problem, but if the factory would set it up right, it isn't a problem (they probably won't set it up right). I did the fix on my Malibu and I had abundant heat, even when idling.

I'd never buy a 550. No need now with the 17" prop and new tranny. Either keep the 21 or dive into the new 2016. G23 hard to beat!

I am sold on the dry Hull improvement. Somehow we are always surfing into the wind getting spraying over the nose. I think the 2015 G21 is a better surf boat than all the current G23's being that is was designed around the nss, like the 2016's are now. We can do just about everything with stock G21 ballast. We surf our wakeboards all the time after a set. I can't cross over, but staying in the pocket is not a problem.

As far as the heater goes, the y pipe does work. The engine does need to be running since there is no circulation pump. But even at idle the heat is pretty good.

Anything new has the potential to have issues and it seems as if the changes are coming faster than they have in the past. The good news is Nautique's warranty is great. The question I have for you is will you keep the 2016 past the warranty period and how close are you to your dealer.
