'99 Sport - replace hard tanks with which sacks?

If you pull the hard tanks out of your '99 era Sport Nautique, which sacks fit best into the stock location? Did you keep the factory fill / empty design and hardware?

Mine is still new to me and I haven't even figured out how it works. Or mine doesn't work and that's why I haven't figured it out yet. The duct tape residue around (what I assume to be) the fill location on the bottom of the hull ... isn't a good sign, IMHO. I should have taken a pic

My 99 Sport did not have factory ballast so I did not have to remove hard tanks and I installed my own fill/empty system with a reversible pump.

I used this in the ski locker:

And this one in the rear locker:

I made sure to add vent lines to both as I was concerned that they could overfill and damage fiberglass.

So you had no intention of trying surfing with your boat? Or you just add people to one corner when you want to surf?

Most Sport/Air owners put 2 sacks in the back including myself. If I was to do it all over again, I would go with one for simplicity knowing that trying to get a good surf wave is almost impossible.

Impossible? I surf my 97 all the time.
To the OP do you have a 99 Super sport v-drive? or just a sport. I didnt think the 99 sports had ballast. If it is a Pro-Air it would.

It says Sport Nautique on the side but came with two ballast tanks and a tower from the factory.

I have a pro air but it's similar configuration... I pulled the hard tanks out and stuck some 600lb Sumo Sacs Back there using the stock switches, new hoses, new pumps. I ended up running the drain pump out of the vent holes on the transom which works great. However, I have so many hoses and pumps and bags and what not back there it looks like an octopus. Next time at the lake I'm going with a single 800lb bag, removing one empty pump since I have two and lots of hoses. Simplify a little.

I'll keep my 2x 600lb bags for extra seat weight using a cig lighter plug in pump.

Also going to order a 325 center locker bag that will just be filled with the plug in pump as well.

I am mostly a slalom course skier and occasional wakeboarder... Have not tried to surf this boat yet, but I did also make an extra fill line connection where I can plug in a hose with a quick connect into the system to fill extra bags on the floor...This way if I do want to use bags on the floor I can easily tap into the reversible pumps for fill/empty and not have to mess with cigarette lighters and aerator pumps.
