Is this worth it knowing the interior needs redone?

I have been watching that one myself. I would say yes, it is worth it. If it was closer to me, it would be in my driveway by now.

Any ideas about whats wrong with the speedo, tach and PP? Its a 5 hr drive for me so I want to get as many opinions facts as I can. Emailing the guy as well.

The speedos are AirGuides, so they are a very simple system. Either the pitot tubes are clogged, the lines are clogged or disconnected, or the speedos themselves are bad (which is unlikely). Tach should be pretty simple too. Likely a disconnected wire, but possibly a bad gauge. PP would be my biggest concern. Many things could cause that not to work, but most are easily fixable.

What's the expected ballpark cost for completely replacing the carpet and upholstery?

Go buy it, get him to include the trick release, and then sell that to me .

$2k to do interior and carpet. However after some emails with him I am going to pass. Seems like there is more hidden then what he wants to come forward with to make the 5hr drive one way.

I stepped into a similar situation last year. Bought a 2000 SN for $3K that had the engine taken apart (cracked intake manifold) and was in rough shape. The engine ended up being the least of my worries- fixing literally everything else was a lot more time then originally planned. Bringing the gel back to life was a huge undertaking.

So at $7K you probably have another $4K in parts/labor to get back in good shape and then you have a boat worth maybe $12K? Not a bad deal but no steal here either.
