    surf system / wake shapers

Sorry if this is old news, but has anyone heard of or about "wake shapers"? They have a website but I didn't want to post a link in here. If the website is any indication of the product, I should stop looking in to it. Is there any body on here making and selling them? Is there anything in the works for after market systems similar that are nautique specific? Somebody fill me in please. Because Im old, bags are a pain and a G is at least 2 years out for me.

There's a bunch listed in a thread in the gear section but I think the best ghetto-gate system is the $24 mini ramp Velcro gate 'skategate'

Me think that thing actually works! I think the days of drilling into the hull and bolting things on the platform are coming to a close.

Nice another ingenious idea for a cheap aftermarket fakegate, show me something that costs too much for a simple idea and I'll show you forums full of answers, love the interwebs

Looks like the $24 ramp is now $599. That is some markup. Just need to find clear velcro now and buy the $24 version.

The extra $575 is for the handle.

I say buy the (auto) ramp on Amazon, drill a hole and add a safety lanyard to clip onto the back of the boat just in case it comes off, add the velcro and be done with it...and save yourself $500+!!

You don't even need to drill a hole. It comes with holes you can use. I have everything ready to test for next weekend (for port side mounting / starboard wave). Velcro is on. If the piece does not naturally float, I intend to put a noodle insides and loop some rope through the noodle and through two holes at the top of the wedge (and make a rope handle) at the top of the wedge. Should provide buoyancy as well as a nice low-profile handle. I will post results and pics after full testing.

Chexi, looking forward to it. I was just about to order the ramp on amazon but curious to see how your experience is and how much push is left in the wake.
