I got a new to me boat a month ago. I got this lift when I bought the house, it is a cantilever with the flat bottom. It is rated for enough weight(3600). Is it okay to lift the front of the boat with that 1 spot or should I build a cradle (v) for it like the trailer just checking everyone's opinion? The lift is not in the water right now to try it even it will work. I've talked to a few and most think it will be ok but wanted a little more opinion before I build the support for the cradle to give it that trailer lift look or get a different lift that rated for more weight for the future. attached is the lift picture and also the boat for those that want to look at boats.

Hard to tell from the pics, the rear supports look crooked and beat up?? If so clean them up and be sure you have decent carpet/padding there and at the bow support. Tracking fins could hit the crossmember if the rear support is not high enough or the lift can't be lowered further below hull contact. Short answer, it will work as is just may need a little tune-up so it does not damage the hull in any way. If you really want to add bunks it certainly would be better for weight distribution and they also do a better job of centering the boat.

Thanks for the reply, The back just needs adjusted. My main concern was picking up the front of the boat on the center of the hull. A guy told me to put some take on the side of the boat at the tracking fins and the shaft, and put it in by hand so you could make sure where it is picking up the boat. I think I will get some carpet ordered and see how it goes. In my short time of owning the boat there is a lot of good knowledge on this site. Thanks

They make brackets with bumpers, in kinda of a "{" shape that prevent the fins from hitting the frame when pulling in. Sometimes it's difficult to see how low your lift is in the water before you pull in or out.
Fixing the rails up with some new carpet and supports should do the trick for you.
