    LINC auto volume control

On my 2015 with auto volume set at 5 and the stereo volume set at 30 when at wakeboarding speed, I'm noticing after I slow down to pick up a rider and then speed up again that the volume doesn't always return to 30--it often returns to 30, but it seems just as likely to return to some level between 27 and 32. Occasionally it returns to a level outside of that range (e.g. I believe once to 36--which was super loud in the boat).

Has anyone else experienced this? My expectation was that it would return to the same volume level each time. If it doesn't, then I have to manually change the volume after I pick up the rider.

I've found the auto volume to be crappy, no matter where I set it.
For example, I turn the volume to 30 with perfect pass on while riding at 22.5 MPH. Then when I slow to pick up a rider, sometimes it goes down to 10, sometimes it becomes inaudible, sometimes it still is too loud. Then I get the same problem when speeding up to the exact same 22.5 MPH, it rarely lands on 30, despite being the exact same speed. Changing the auto volume fails to correct the problem. So I just stopped using it and thanked my stars for the Roswell knob, it takes me exactly 0.347 seconds to turn the volume down where I want it while picking up a rider and getting it back up when we take off. The auto volume seemed like such a great idea...

Same situation here as Tall. I added in a Wetsounds EQ and control the master vloume with a knob.

Frankly, this seems stupid. I'm not sure how hard it would be to automatically pull down to one volume and then back up to the another volume and have it be the same each time. Doesn't seem difficult. Perhaps I'll install my HSE controller--it performed this function perfectly. I was hoping to avoid having an extra component in the loop.

In the meantime, I've been using both the auto volume and the 420. So I set the auto-adjustment at 5 and the volume higher than I want it and then attenuate with the WS420 once at wakeboarding speed. That way the volume gets automatically pulled down when I slow down (...I haven't verified that the low-speed volume is consistent--I don't think it is) and then goes back up when I speed up and I again manually adjust the volume up/down with the 420 once at speed.
