    2016 G23 Order

I have sold my G21 and am in the final process of ordering the G23. After all the debate I am stuck on the colors on Nautique web site with their promo boat. I just think the brown interior looks so good with the white, gray, and black exterior. I also like the darker floor and not the gray. It looks to be a popular choice , I have seen other dealers online that are or are going to stock the same color scheme for inventory. Pros/Cons?

I use my drop in air dam all the time. We take it in and out several times a day and always store it under the seats. It is quite the hassle because people are always on the seats it is under. Decided to go with the built in one despite the high price. Does anyone have one, does it rattle in the open position? I would much rather spend the 200 and put it under the seat if it is not super quiet and easy to use.

My hang up is what to do on speakers and tower prep package. I not worried about warranty, I will never blow any speakers or over use them. We just don't do that. I always have small kids and their friends with parents in the boat. I was going to order with (4) 7.7 and the M series elite prep kit, and stay with the stock stereo.

    vs

Just adding speakers of choice to tower after I get the boat and save some money. I do not want to add amps and wiring but am quite handy with the tools and would have no problems doing this. What tower prep kit? If I get the studio elite, do I have to do 4 speakers? If I go M series elite am I limited to what I can use? Will this be a plug and play install with speakers, or will amps have to be tuned and cleaned due to not having speakers when the boat left the factory

I was also going to skip the underwater lights. I have them on my G21 and have never used them. We are not allowed to move with lights on here and can use them at the dock.

I also like the Phender system , but for the money we already have a good system using the current boat cleats and throwing two tied together threw the tower and letting them hang. I just can't justify unless someone has better thoughts about these.

    Thanks for the help

^ The studio elite prep kit is more than 2x the $$ that it would cost to add after you got the boat. Same applies on the speakers. The Elite prep kit is more costly as well, but not quite as extreme. I ordered with studio elite prep kit, and added 2-770s and 2-880s after the boat came in. It took me about 2 hours to install the speakers, and saved me about $2k. Although expensive, I am glad I didn't have to do the amp install. Had I taken delivery off season, I probably would have done the amp myself.

You will have to adjust and tune the Amp no matter what...... Along with the other amps. They are set up ok from factory, but nowhere near perfect.

Even with just 4-770s, I would recommend doing the studio elite prep kit. 770s are supposed to be good with 100 watts per channel, but I have found them to be substantially better with at least 150 watts per channel on tap.

I have had the phender pro system on my last 3 MCs, and ordered on my 16 G23. I will never have a boat without them again. They are awesome.

Also, take this into consideration.....while the MSRP for each option appears to be high, that's not exactly what you may be paying for it. You can probably take about 20% off the MSRP price. i.e. - MSRP for one pair JL 8.8 tower speakers = $2473 and Studio elite prep kit = $1893. Take the dealer 20% off that and you get ~$3500. Granted I know that is still higher than what you may pay for it aftermarket, But probably not as much as many may think. Plus the added warranty. I know you say you won't ever "blow a speaker", but a lot more than a blown speaker can happen in a 5 year period. Not trying to sell you on the factory stuff tho, as I am a big fan of Wetsounds and their customer service!

^ Amp+880s+Speaker brackets+wiring kit= about $1800.00. And if you buy the 880s at the right time (during a sale), the whole package would be about $1500.00. (I got my 880s for 15% off) Even if you got a smoking deal off MSRP on the boat, it is still costing you over $1500.00 more. The amp they use for the studio elite prep is only $650.00. Full retail price on the M880 ETXV3 is $1050.00 a pair.

IMO, that is a BIG difference for identical components.....

Warranty is good piece of mind...... But not at 2x the cost.

I love the pocket door. I have had it on every boat I have had since it became available. I use it all the time. It does not make any noise at all in any position.
