2016 G23 tower prep kit????

If someone would to order without any tower prep kit- what can you expect to have to purchase to have tower speakers?
1- amp
2- tower speakers

will there be wiring already installed to all four locations on the tower-or will that have to be done.

just trying to think things threw- i will have all winter to do some things- but not really interested in running wires threw the tower.

Assuming you mean the Tower Speaker Prep Kit, I believe that only gives you the amp for the speakers. All towers are pre-wired, so if you're just looking for the wiring, don't order the prep kit.

Sorry , I was not clear. Yes the tower speaker prep kit- does it only include the amp?

I was just trying to see what I would getting involved in if I would order a new boat without tower speakers and without any tower speaker prep kits. What exactly would I have to buy to get what would be included with the tower speaker studio elite prep kit and 2 pair of 8.8 speakers.

does with tower wiring go all the way to amp location, or just to bottom of tower if ordered without tower prep kits?
does the boat come with board location for speaker amp mounting?

If you don't get the prep kit, then you will need to run power and ground wires to your amp. Also don't forget a fuse. You will also need to run a wire from one amp to the other to turn it on. You will need an extra set of RCA cables to get the signal to the amp. Then you need a few small screws to mount the amp to the amp board, assuming that you don't need to build an entirely new amp board to make it fit. There is a board, but it was not big enough for 3 amps on my 2015 with just the base stereo.

Running speaker wire up the tower would have been the easiest part of the job if you had to do that.

It really is not all that complicated once you study it out, but I can see why somebody may not want to do it myself. Personally, I have a great feeling of satisfaction when there isn't any smoke when I turn it on for the first time. Errr, Ummm, I mean when I hear those great sounding tunes and know that I did that myself.

And, for the tower speakers...if you DID want to run Better wires than what the factory has already installed there, then just connect the ends of the factory wire to the new wire and just feed the new wire through as you pull it using the factory wire. Makes it quick and simple. Although the factory wire should suffice, some people just want a better gauge of wire for some speakers (i.e. wetsounds).

And I should have mentioned that the stock tower wires run in the front legs. I think there are issues depending on what clamp you get with certain aftermarket speakers. My Wetsounds have the wire go straight through the clamp, so I had to run new wires anyway through the rear legs, which was not too difficult. I could have used the stock wires, and run them to the speaker, but I thought it does not look very modern to have wires exposed outside the speaker. I did drill a hole in my tower where the clamp is.
