Moving a boat to California.....Any issues?

I live in California and I am looking at a boat that is out of state. The boat has a PCM EX 343. Does anyone know if all those motors are CARB compliant? Has anyone had any issues with this?

Not sure. But I'm selling an 04 210 team edition if you're interested. I'm here in Los Angeles. It's got the PCM 330. Only 460 hours! Very clean boat with new GPS perfect pass. It's got every factory option plus a big stereo with 4 wet sounds tower speakers. Looking for 30kobo

Thanks but I'm only looking for a 211.

Its difficult to see one specific place that says its CARB certified (page 5 of the engine manual). If it is a 2008, it may or may not be the Catanium version of the EX343, but both should be okay. My 07 (only has the EX330) has a sticker on it that states "ultra low emissions" that is superimposed over "CALIFORNIA" on the red plastic cowl cover.

Why do you care? Its not like it has to be smoked or inspected.

Because it has to be registered and California DMV can be tough to deal with.

What year is the boat you are looking at? Per the registration form it looks like the emission standards apply to boats manufactured after 2008 or 2009

Thanks. I have been doing some research. It is an 08 model but was built in 07. So everything should be good. The motors that were built in 08 are the difficult ones.

Just brought a Ski 200 into Los Angeles from Indiana. Did everything through Auto Club but they didn't even give the boat a second glance. They had to inspect the trailer but boats coming into CA don't have to be inspected. At least that was my experience a week ago.

I just changed my boat from AZ to CA through AAA... AZ is a titleless state. AAA didn't even ask to look at the boat...

Sent from my van down by the river!
