Well, I finally found the time to install my retractable pylon for my 2006 SAN and was it easy. Probably took an hour total to remove the rear seat, remove the old pylon and install the new retracting pylon. I purchased this pylon this summer for my 2001 SAN but ended up selling that boat before I was able to install (lucky for me). I haven't had a chance to take it out on the lake and may not this season (MN water temps are already close to 60 degrees) but it feels sturdy and looks great. The main reason I wanted the retracting pylon is my fear of my kids knocking out their teeth on the stock pylon. It seems it is always in the wrong place at the wrong time. I have a 7 and 9 year old and when they sit in the rear seat to watch it is right at head level. One slip and ouch.
As you can see in the photos the fit and finish is really nice.
Take a look at the pics and let me know if you have any questions. I also have a video but can't figure out how to post it but I did find this link on youtube.
One of the best products I have purchased for my boat in a long time.
BTW, I picked it up from a group buy on this site, I have also seen the croup buy on correctcraftfan.
