    Boat lift removal question

I saw the video below and it seemed like a good inexpensive way to get your lift in and out. I would probably also add a wheel set. My lift weight is close to 1000 pounds. How many 4 or 6 in PVC pipes do you think it would take to float the lift?

You could secure a 30 gallon plastic drum at each corner and do the same thing...

Have been putting lifts in/out for years and that is a really great method for small $$$. The only real negative I can come up with is on the way out having to feed the straps around the lower cross bar, your going to likely get wet, particularly if your feet are slammed and the lift is in a muddy or mucky bottom. You might even be able to use the PVC to roll the lift along the ground if you really wanted to, wheel kit would be much easy for that though.

That looked terrible. Wheel kit way better. Look how the struggle to get it in and out of the water. Only good when floating.
