Ballast Shift Option on 2016 G-Series Boats

Have you guys seen the Ballast Shift option on the 2016 G-Series boats? This is a feature I have wanted for a long time. I was reading through the LINC 3 Manual and came across this. I often try to level my boat using the ballast system, and often forget to stop the pumps. I will use this new setting constantly in my boat. So glad to finally have this!

That is awesome! I have a feeling touchscreens can evolve to become something like a DSLR. I have a DSLR and use about 10% of its capability. That is a terrific feature.

Nice...I added a fourth pump in my 06 (sold now) to do just that...work quickly because it was transferring from one tank to the other so 50 lbs of water moved equalled 100 lb shift

I started to come up with some type of weight mounted on a sliding rail but did not have the room to do it right...it would be nice to have a 150 lb sliding weight that could be adjusted instantly as people move from spot to spot

Is there a 4th Jabsco pump that does the shift and are the bags in the port and starboard tanks equipped with an extra connection?

I doubt it. I would assume it just empties one side and fills the other. I don't have my '16 yet though, so I haven't checked.

Bummer. It would be so much faster if you were actually distributing weight, not adding or subtracting, especially since filling at speed is highly inefficient.

I would imagine it would just drain one side if you were completely full.

It does just empty one side the set amount to balance it.

It is essentially for wakeboarding balancing. The kicker, is that you really have to guess ahead of time. It is really only good for one scenario (which actually applies to me on most morning rides)- Most times I am going to wakeboard, there is the same 2 other people in the boat. I know that the '16 G23 takes about 200lbs of extra weight on the port side to balance it. I have 2 guys that are 200ish lbs in the boat. One driving, and one in the observer seat. I can set the ballast shift to lighten the starboard side by 200lbs, so that the boat is perfectly balanced when we get to speed. If the crew is any different than that, it is a complete guessing game, and it is much quicker to move a person or two, than it is to try and do the balance shift once you are going.

While it saves me about 20 seconds of dropping the starboard side manually, I think this feature will be useless for most people.

It does not use a separate transfer pump, or anything fancy like that.
