It is essentially for wakeboarding balancing. The kicker, is that you really have to guess ahead of time. It is really only good for one scenario (which actually applies to me on most morning rides)- Most times I am going to wakeboard, there is the same 2 other people in the boat. I know that the '16 G23 takes about 200lbs of extra weight on the port side to balance it. I have 2 guys that are 200ish lbs in the boat. One driving, and one in the observer seat. I can set the ballast shift to lighten the starboard side by 200lbs, so that the boat is perfectly balanced when we get to speed. If the crew is any different than that, it is a complete guessing game, and it is much quicker to move a person or two, than it is to try and do the balance shift once you are going.

While it saves me about 20 seconds of dropping the starboard side manually, I think this feature will be useless for most people.

It does not use a separate transfer pump, or anything fancy like that.

Agreed. To be honest, I am not sure how this feature is an improvement since I just dump weight now when leveling while under way. I hope they add CATS to a G in the future as that system works exceptionally well for evening out the wake and can be down with full ballast. .

I really love this feature. It actually adds water to one tank and dumps water to the other at the same time in 50lb increments. Due to both pumps running this can be done on the fly very quickly. I usually have the overhead ballast view up when I start a set. I can very quickly fine tune the wake. Much faster than doing in manually as before the new link system. For some reason I would usually forget what I was doing and end up adding or dumping about 500lb of ballast before I noticed what was going on. I'm sure I am the only one that was doing that. Yes you can move people in the boat but this keeps you from having to demand people move from the spot they wanted to sit especially with small kids that don't understand.

But for the people that run full ballast you can't add to one side. You can only subtract from one side when everything is full.

So in this case just hitting drain until it is level is just as fast.

Exactly, and especially while under way. I don't forget to stop emptying because I am watching the wake and know to stop the pump once it cleans up.

Yes in an full ballast setup you would still be running both pumps. Adding to the full side would be overflow and subtracting from the other side. Just dumping on one side would be just as fast. This option only allows a set stop point. In my case usually I am watching the wake waiting for it to clean up my rider hits a big trick with a big fall and by the time I turn around get back my rider I realize I forgot to stop dumping. So this is a feature I love on the new Link system. I hope in the future it can be a automatic self level option.

I wonder if they could upgrade the software for the pre-16 link systems...It would be nice from Nautique side
