    Replacing the entire drain plug?

Just bought a 02 SN. I cant get the drain plug loose. There isnt enough room to get anything long enough in there. I let it soak (top and bottom) with PB blaster and still no budging. I found a full replacement (http://www.nautiqueparts.com/drainpl...ndlewbase.aspx). I was thinking of unscrewing the 4 screws at the bottom of the boat and seeing if the whole unit will slide out from underneath. I might have to cut off the T. I can always try just replacing the T handle if the bottom unit stays undamaged.

Anyone ever done this before. Is their any sort of gasket I need to be aware of if I remove the brass base?

I use a water cut off tool to reach mine. Lots of leverage

Are you left handed? Throw a righty at it. Take a 5/8" boxed end wrench and stick the left side of the t in the hole and pry turning counter clockwise. Lefty loosey, righty tighty.

3M 4200 is a commonly used sealer for through hull fittings.

As suggested above a water meter valve T-handle tool will give you a lot of reach. I would also take a hammer and hit the plug a couple times from the bottom to try and break the threads free.

Thanks for the replies. I am a righty. The problem is both of the paddlewheels are on each side with the pylon mounted directly in front of the plug. So the only "free" space is directly under the engine. Ill try giving it a love tap and seeing if I can pick up a t handle or try some of the other suggestions to get that SOB off.
