Thinking about joining the nautique family by purchasing a 2015 G21. 90% for surfing... Fell in love w the surf wave from the first minute behind it. Are most people running factory ballast? If adding are you adding with lead, extra ballast bags or plug n play?

Yes....I'm with Jose.....we had to bump the speed up....even with the kids to "Get it going". 11.6....All tanks full.....NCRS 4....NSS 0.....wake is kinda short. I'm going to try empty a little in the rear and bring down the NCRS to see if I can stretch it out a little longer. Any other suggestions to get the wave a little longer??

I generally run just full stock ballast and 400lb of lead in the cockpit. Occasionally I will fill up 400s in the rear compartments and a 750 in the bow. It does make the wave overall better, but I find transfers a little difficult because the rooster tail is that much bigger.
I surf stock ballast at 11.1, NCRS 3, NSS 0

Sorry for the stupid question... Completely inexperienced here, but I am really surprised to read people putting the NSS to zero...
Isn't that the same as not running it? Does that mean the system doesn't work? OR is zero fully deployed?
Sorry like I said- I don't have NSS so I'm not familiar with the specifics... But as someone considering the $3000 NSS addition I'm a little concerned that people that have it don't use/like it?

Yes...seems a little backwards with the numbering....but I will say once you get that one setting/wave dialed in, you have to do VERY little on the dash to get the wave ready to surf. It becomes a snap of the finger easy.

Just remove weight front the rear. The G21 is a relatively short boat so needs weight in the front. If you load the rear you just get a wall. Other option is all full and a lot of extra ballast in the front.
Keep NCRS as low as possible (as I consider it the "pulling" tool) & and play with NSS for peak purposes
Same for wakeboarding, I usually ride full front & half rear as it launches faster for less consumption purposes.
