G25 Bimini Question

I am trying to figure out how the buckles and loop underneath the front edge of the bimini are supposed to come together or what they are for. See the photo I attached. I guess my question first is where doe the loop go? Does one of the bimini support poles go through it? If so which one? Are the buckles simply snapped together underneath the support poles or do the go above it somehow? I don't think the buckles go through the loop cause I could get it to snap that way.

Ok, I just did this on the 2016 PN G23, and I went and pulled the instructions out of the trash so that I could scan them for you. There is a diagram that answers your exact question.

The front clips do connect OVER the frame and through the loop, and you have to partially fold the bimini wings in order to make this happen. It is tight.

Ok so mine is getting warrantied right now for having it routed IAW those instructions.

When you fold it down and lock it in place, it will pull the buckle wicked tight and bend it over the pole. Mine broke.

Be careful of bending the plastic buckle tight over the pole.... They will break.

Will do. The other interesting I just found from reading those instructions is the gas shocks. I swear mine doesn't have those cause it was quite tricky folding it down. I would have noticed some assistance as I was lowering and trying to keep it from banging the windshield. I wonder if that was something added after 2013 or maybe it never got installed on mine originally?

Yes, the 2013 biminis definitely do not have them.

Here's the trick with those...

• Remove bimini knobs.
• Release tower locks.
• Stand in the bow.
• Close the center window.
• Grasp the front of the bimini frame and pull forward toward you until tower is in lowest position.
• While holding the bimini off the windshield with one hand, install the bimini support pole with the other.
• Lower bimini support pole onto the floor.

Is this the same way the buckle on a 2015 should be?

My boat is a 2013 and Jeff's instructions are for a 2016 so I would assume all model years between the two are consistent

Well that sucks when the dealer delivers it and its not in the right position......glad to catch it before it breaks though, so thats at least one positive
