Thinking about tinting windshield, but not sure what is considered legal/illegal? I'm in Alabama and have tried internet searching but found nothing. Anyone know? I know I see N3 tints their boats at around 35%, is that the legal threshold? I know it will hinder vision at night, but I haven't driven my boat at night it 3+ years. Any thoughts or pics of different % on peoples boats....I was thinking either 20% or 35%.

There is no law in Alabama on tint for a boat. I have 35% cause it is easy to see out even during the day. I had 5% and was hard to see thru with sunglasses on during the day. It was fine without sunglasses so it depends on the look you want more than anything else

I don't think any state has tint laws for vessels, but I know AL doesn't. I've had 2.5% on my boat since 2003 and never had an issue with marine police. A few things to think about... Obviously at night any tint will make it harder to see through the glass. During the day I have an issue with glare from the dash reflecting back on the glass unless the bimini is up. I usually have it up so not a big problem. Somewhere around 30% seems to be a good compromise for most people.

Definitely! Riding at the cable park last weekend may be the last of my riding this season unless this weather clears up. I hope to have a few more boat sets this year though. What area of Guntersville do you ride? I keep to Spring Creek when up there.Jason

We are done for the winter as well....I keep the boat at signal point marina, but mostly ride towards the east lake area (new to Guntersville, so I think thats what they call it?) Used to ride alot with JWard, but been hard to make it over to the cullman area...next year we'll meet up and get some ride time in! - Byron

Okay... I rode with Ward at FlipSide last weekend. I know Signal Point, but never heard anything refered too as East Lake. If you come out of Signal Point and go left under the 227 bridge towards Covenant Cove there is usually good water, or you can continue under the second bridge that is 431/231 towards Boaz and that is Spring Creek. Depending on wind direction and wallys that water in nice and where most people I know ride at.
We'll have to get together next season.Jason
