I am local and have a couple of doomswell boards I am looking to move. Keeping my everyday Neo as I will never part w that one but have a 4'6" Neo in red and an el jefe. Also would think about selling my xl phase five carbon. Have a used twp bomb pop too. Let me know if you want to check em out!
It seems hard to demo boards and find used boards. Selling them is difficult primarily because of shipping. I have been frustrated many times to consider spending $500+ to have something shipped to me that I am not sure I will like. So I end up with the same old boards I have always had. I wonder if you could make a business of housing a hundred used surf boards and just sold them and bought them back regularly.
I go out of my way to ride every board I can and its still not many, the most recent board I purchased was one I actually got to demo at a wakeboard/surf event but even then it was a compromise. I have had 4 different surf boards and most were just guesses, the next time I purchase a surfboard I might be inclined to purchase it through Boardco if I can find several options I am interested in due to their return policy. That way if I try it out and don't like it I can try a different one without significant expense.
You can save a lot of money if you listen to folks who are your approximate weight and surf style.
Listening to what the majority of pros have to say, based on what they can do.... 140-185lb ish young 20s dudes is a far stretch from your average wakeboat owner.
Determine if you are surf style or skim.... How much you weigh.... And how much wave size and quality you have to play with i.e. G23 with 5k ballast vs a 210 with bags.
Throw your specs out and you'll get much better feedback and save money.
send MLsurfco a pm since hes local and grab one of those Doomswell boards and completely avoid shipping while also making a new local surf buddy in the process. They are perfect for short money.
