    WakeMakers surf tabs

    Hey all,

Running a 2006 sv211 and was considering adding surf tabs. I saw a FB ad for Wakemakers. Seems pretty legit but wasn't sure if there were any better options out there for about the same amount of money.

    Any thoughts?

    Thanks!

I was keeping an eye on the other thread that had started earlier in the year on the Wakemakers surf tabs. It looks pretty interesting, but I would also like to hear some real world reviews on this before spending $$ on it. It would be about a 5500.00 touch once the exchange gets through with me up here.

        Thanks for the reply woody!

I can't imagine it that it wouldn't help in some way. I see it as spending a few grand to adjust my wave for the better VS going 'all in' for a newer boat with the surf tech. I was pretty surprised that my 211 threw a decent starting surf wake. I know some of my friends boats have way more stock ballast than I do, but my shape seems to be better on both sides.

Of course, I'd love to have a SANTE or a new G23, but it's probably never going to be in my budget.

still no pics of ANY Nautiques.... I wish someone would bite the bullet and see. I am half tempted to ask them if they can send the templates (print on 11X14?) and just see what kind of space issues I might be dealing with. I hate to see a $4K charge just sit on my CC for 2-3 weeks while I try to figure it out.
WaveControl technology is a retro-fittable wakesurf system that’s designed to fit multiple boat manufacturer’s models and hulls.

The company that makes the tabs(go surf assist) is very easy to work with. Give them a buzz and I am sure Ryan over there will get you squared away in templates. I too am looking at this pretty hard. However I a going under the knife here shortly so it's going to be a while before I get to it on my 08. I am curious if they will work with the steps in the hull on my boat

they've recently come out with a narrower version of the GSA for the stepped hull on the 2nd generation xstar, so my guess is they would be able to do it for the stepped hull on yours as well. http://www.mastercraft.com/teamtalk/...ad.php?t=70784

I received the same email and am curious to see one in action on the classic 210SAN hull.

I don't understand the pricing...You can pick up regular trim tabs form less than $1000, yet these guys want $4K. I could see a $500 price increase for creating custom control boxes but, it's just trim tabs

I would say it's because they are something new and I'm sure Ryan has invested a pretty good amount to get them fabricated and all set up. No one else really has anything like it out there and he set the price higher because of this. I will have to agree with you they are a little steep in price. But they are bad *** and a lot less expensive then getting a new boat. And I'm pretty sure he has this is mind too. Just my .02
They are technically just a trim tab but they aren't flat and have a little angle flared down at the tip. I'm really thinking they will work on a Nautique. Please someone.... Get this thing on and post pics and video.

Well, here is a little follow up since I hate things being unresolved. I contacted wakemakers a few days ago to see how long the back order was and it was quotes as 5-6 weeks. I did inquire how to see if the tabs would fit before I dropped $4K and they sent me templates in email (AWESOME). I quickly printed them (to the correct scale) and was SUPER disappointed in the hydraulic actuator falls EXACTLY where my swim platform brackets were.

I called Ryan at GSA and told him the situation and he asked that I forward him some pics of what I was talking about, so I did. I also told him I know he is prolly slammed, and if he couldn't get back because it is not worth his while to figure this out for a particular boat (a 211), I understood.

I attached a few pics and you can see where the template tells the actuator to go and then my other options, with one having the edge of the tab very close to the side of the boat (to have the actuator clear the platform brackets). The other thing on the 211's would be the transition from the blue colored to white gel coat (on mine thats the colors), thee is approximately 1/4" "step down" in the molded in lines towards the keel.

I hope he can give me some help and if he does, I will definitely pass it on here.

Any new info on this yet? Were they able to modify anything for your swim grid brackets? I think my brackets are in pretty close to the same position as yours.

nope, no updated yet, but I am hoping that it is just because he is pretty busy. I did note that most of their customers seem to be from the Malibu/MB/Mastercraft crowd. I dont know the significant hull differences between their various models, so I dont know if our multi-stepped hull makes it more difficult.
