2002 SANTE 210 Questions- Key Pad & Perfect Pass

Helping a neighbor with his recently purchased 02 SANTE 210 and have a few questions that I cant seem to find answers to even after reviewing the Nautique manual:
    1. What function do the up and down arrows perform on the start key pad?
    2. I just replaced the digital gauges (tach/ speedo) with the analog Faria gauge kit from Nautique Parts. Install was very easy. However, the instructions do not provide a significant amount of information on the use of the speedo potentiometer and the existing Perfect Pass Digital Pro/ Wakeboardpro. Is the first step after installation of the speedo to calibrate the speedo using the potentiometer during an in the water test? I am assuming that Perect Pass accepts the signal from the new speedo/ tach and then takes over accordingly.

arrows are for the power sundeck/motor cover when equipped
PP has it's own adjustment for the speedo, likely your gauge would adjust the same way while underway. Try to use a speed you will use the most often as your setpoint so you are most accurate at the most common speed.
I have the same PP system and it can be set as either, Wakeboard Pro or Digital Pro, last I checked the manual was on their site.

      Quinner,
Thanks. I just looked further down and found the information for the PP system on the PN page. Actually Jeff has more info on here than PP on their site.

I think you found your answers but if not the arrows run the sun deck like mentioned. That would be 2000 and later boats. 2001 and newer have the 3 piece sun decks and no lift motor. PP uses the paddle wheel for the speed and not the potentiometers on the back of the boat.

Potentiometer is what you use to adjust the gauge reading to be accurate to your true speed (ideally verified with a GPS unit), on the back of the boat would be pitots which use air/water pressure to indicate speed to the gauge(s), his updated gauges may only use the paddle wheel for speed reading now.

Exactly. The boat does not have the old pitot tubes. Therefore, I am going to see tomorrow when I water test the boat how it all works together. I mounted the potentiometer under the dash out of the way but easily accessible as opposed to in the dash pod. From what I understand from the Faria calibration instructions, the speedo has a "course adjustment" on the gauge for a broad range and then the fine tuning with the potentiometer. I have an app on my phone that is GPS based and it is very accurate to be able to hopefully get this all set up for my neighbor.

Something I have been curious about, is the 210 an Excal by any change? If so ECM "should" hold the true hours and if so did they display zero or actual with the new gauge?? Thanks!!

The old digital gauge was faintly showing 430 hours. It is the 330 Excalibur but upon install of the new analog Faria gauge the hours are showing 0.0. I need to see what Perfect Pass is showing for hours, provided that PP has been in the boat since it was new. In the case of my neighbor's boat it is somewhat irrelevant since the previous owner apparently had a manufactured motor put in about 20 hours ago.

That's interesting, so assuming in 02' the Excal ECM holds hours you should be able to still capture them but apparently the replacement gauges are just a clock and not smart or tied to the ECM.

That's my understanding. I thought I read here someone rigged a battery up to the gauge and tricked it into thinking the boat was on and left it that way until the hour meter on the new gauge matched the old, or ECM hours. I think that would be the way to go.
