The only way to make a bigger wake is to punch a bigger hole in the water. A bigger hole in the water results in more drag. It takes more power to overcome the increased drag. It takes more fuel to make more power.

So there. The sport of wakeboarding and surfing are inversely proportional to fuel economy.

Since it was mentioned about the fuel guage accuracy... I have found that if I subtract 6 gallons from the fuel tank volume, the gauge is extremely accurate from top to bottom. I do not plan on necessarily test it, but I am pretty sure it shows 0% when you have 6 gallons left. If you make calculations with a 59 gallon tank, then I have found it to be spot on. I just made this up on my own, but I would challenge others to verify. This explains someone else noting that it gets farther off as you get into the bottom of the tank. That is because the extra 6 gallons make up an increasing portion of your gas tank when you get to the bottom half.

I had the boat sputtering, and the gauge said there was 4-6% fuel left. So not sure about there being 6 gallons left with the gauge at 0%...unless the fuel pickup is in the front?
