Help with tow point

Been searching the forums for a while now, and finally found the need to ask a question
I have a super air with a tower
I use the tower for my tow point for wake boards and ski
However the kids are ready to tube and I have been told not to use tower for tubes
What is the best option for towing the kids on the tube, is it as simple a s a couple of transom hooks in the transom and hook tube rope on there or should I be looking at something else . Any help appreciated

Is there not a tow point on back or lower ski pylon for skiing? Seems like most of the Nautiques I've seen had some form of ski tow point or pylon to ski from. Any pics of your boat? Year it is?

Depending on what year "Super Air" you are talking about...and if it's truly a Super Air, some of them had the ski pylon in the center of the floor. Maybe it was removed. Other than that, it should be right behind the back seat in front of the engine. Some Nautiques even have retractable pylons in the later years. My 226 in 2010 was retractable. What year is your boat and post a pic if you can.

My 2011 SANTE 210 does not have a ski pylon. Just the tower, a lifting ring, and a D-ring on the transom below the platform for trailer tie-downs.

Sorry should have said its a 2006 model,
It only has a tower atm
On the transom it has like tow points that are covered in a plastic cover and they are under the swim platform, I am sure they would be strong enough if I used a rope bridle, however being under the platform it would pull against it and cause damage.
Not sure what to do , asked nautique oarts for the ski pylon kit and it's going to cost over $1500 aus by the time I get it here
Thinking do I just install two hooks into each side and use a bridle ?

The hooks under the platform are lifting rings, don't think it would be a good idea to pull from those and not even sure how you could without damaging the rope, platform or brackets. Pulling a tube in moderation from the tower is fine, not a big fan of tubing but understand sometimes it's a necessary transition to getting the kids to try ski/boards and other things. You will be fine from the tower, just don't drive like a drunken knucklehead and the load will be no worse then a hard pulling boarder.

I have a 2006 and the ski pylon is right behind the rear seat.
Does yours not have this?

That is exactly what I was after, no my boat does not have anything like that at all
I have rang nautique oarts and the kit I need is going to cost me nearly $1500 aus by time I get it home and then the rope will rub on my rear cushion
What I am going to do is fit a tow ring to centre of transom for the tube and use the tower for ski and wake board
I am currently in the process of getting a barefoot inept enraging boom as well
My daughter is 9 and keen to learn to ski, however they still want to tube

After looking through some pics of some 04s, 05s, and 06's, I saw several with and several without the ski pylon. Looks like it was an option from the factory to include the "water sports plyon" . Good luck Tobie. My girls still ride the tube...but also ski, wakeboard, kneeboard and surf. Really bothers me when people say we shouldn't tube anymore with these boats. Fun has no wakeboat "click". Enjoy.

That is a huge myth. The limiting factor with a skier is the skier's grip. But with a tuber, you can have 3 riders, and they are positioned such that holding on is very easy compared to what a skier has to do. Most tube ropes are non-stretch, so when a slack tube rope goes tight, it snaps all at once. It is avoidable with good driving habits, but I am sure even the most competent of us toob drivers have accidentally slacked a rope a time or two. That is not to put down how much grip a strong skier has, but it cannot come close to a submerged tube or a what happens when slack gets in a tube rope. The toober simply has better mechanical advantage to put more stress on the rope.

Gents, I just purchased a 2015 Super Air G21 and really only have two points to tie a tube, one directly above the swim platform, its a horizontal bar or on the tower. I've read enough horror stories about tubes getting submerged and when tied to the tower and really cranking the boat so I have tied it to the bar on the transom. Issue with this is that the rope is basically along the water the whole time and the people on the tube are getting constant spray in their face basically requiring them to have their head down the whole time. Fully recognize it may be the tube I have but thought I would gauge if there are any other thoughts on this.

Hi Jeff.

By 'bar' do you mean the grab rail on the transom? I'm not sure that that is a good place to tie a tube to. I can't see there being much support behind that as it is only intended to help you climb onto the swim platform.
