    2016 G23 Delivery

I just got my 2016 G. I have to say fit and finish of this boat is far superior to my 2015 G21. It has been sitting in my garage a few days now and I have had time to go threw it and check some things out. I spend some time in the 15 with wire ties, missing hardware, cleaning, gluing carpet, and other small things but have yet to find anything on the 16.

They changed the knob hole for the bimini. The 15 was round and almost impossible to get the knob started without cross threading it. I had to rotary bur the hole to get alignment on the one side. On the 16 the holes are already oval and larger to make alignment much easier.

The tower shocks are smoother and require less effort to raise and lower tower.

The rear platform is larger, thinner, and lighter. I know this because I have to remove it and put it in an overhead shelf to store my boat in the garage.

I think my favorite thing are the tool less plugs (blue) for winterization. It takes less than 5 min to remove them and store the plugs in their home. Disconnect the heater hoses and blow them out and your done.

H6 motor seems easier for service. The oil filter, fuel filter, and water strainer are more accessible.

I may have screwed up with tower speakers. I got one pair of 8.8's. My end goal was to have 4. I was going to order two more and install myself to cut some cost, but now I don't think I can buy them anywhere but Nautique to match color and style. I was afraid to order with none, in fear that the factory would not tune the amp and be left with that to do as well. The only options I can find are the black and white at half the cost of the factory ones, just not the same paint. I should have ordered without any tower speakers and added 4 black ones. Now I don't think I have any options but by from the factory or just go with the two.

I love the Link 3.0- I will be easier to teach and learn for new drivers.

        Without pics it didn't happen!

Bummer on the inability to find a pair of aftermarket speakers that match. I would keep your eyes on the classifieds and offer to buy someone who got them, but decided to upgrade to a Wetsounds or Exile package. If they accidentally put tower speakers on mine, I would be glad to sell them to you.

Painting them would not be all that difficult for a local shop to do. They probably would just want all 4 of them so they could paint them. I have seen a guy (JoeA?) who got his speakers painted metal flake to match the boat. It was stellar.

Thinking that the factory tune on the speakers is going to be optimal might be a stretch if they are like most other manufacturers. They often come from the factory needing adjustment on the amps anyway.

On the my 2015 with the 450, the heater is operated with antifreeze that runs through the engine. No more frozen heater cores! Did that change with the 2016?

I did have the Rev10s painted to match the orange metal flake on the boat. It's definitely my favorite upgrade on the boat. Makes its a nice talking point while being unique on my lake..
