2000 SAN - Currently in Negotiations

    Hi All,

I am currently in negotiations with a private seller on a 2000 SAN. The boat is listed at $19,000, but I have gotten them down to $18,500.

The boat has 600 hours on it, and shows normal wear and tear with no major scratches / dings in the gel coat. The interior will need to be replaced in the next couple years because you can see where the seams are starting to split, as well as there being a quarter size rip in the rear cushion.

Includes: Stock / Custom ballast system, perfect pass, wakeboard tower, bimini cover, custom cover, new Barefoot International Tower Boom, perfect pass, and single axel trailer. Engine looked clean, but was not able to start it due to being winterized.

I originally came in at $17,500, knowing that hours are relatively high and the fact that the interior will need to be redone at some point in the near future. Does anyone have any feedback on pricing and / or general input on the 2000 SAN?

    Thanks,
    Chris

Don't feel the hours (if accurate) are high for a 16 season old boat, that's only about 38hr per season average, which actually would be considered low. I would definitely double check the hours to what perfect pass shows however, that particular model year is known for some garbage gauges which when replaced the previous hours would be lost. If the perfect pass was not installed factory original/new then those hours may also be inaccurate.
Hopefully a GT-40 or Apex powered boat, if not that would affect value. Skins are easily going to cost you $3k-$4k for a quality replacement. I would highly recommend a water test before buying.
    Good Luck

That seems like a pretty decent deal. I am about to list my 2001 SAN that will also need a new interior in the next few years for 19k. Like stated above the digital gauges fail and if it has updated gauges with GT40 there is no way to find out the actual hours.

Thanks for the feedback! I was able to negotiate down further and ended up purchasing the boat mid January. Looking forward to the weather getting warm!

That many hours is nothing man. Don't sweat the hours. If it has been taken fairly good care of maintenance wise with oil changes and such that motor still has many many hours left on it. I have ~900 on my 03 SANTE and never worried that it had 850 when I bought it because the owner had maintenance records from a Nautique dealership. I fully expect to run mine to 2000 hours. Great boat congrats on getting it.
